Bit harsh there, he's had some nice performances under Di Matteo. If anything, I thought bringing on Torres for Drogba was a terrible idea. His defending wasn't the best but I think it worked out nicely for them...

Well, it kinda is an underdog story. Di Matteo is an inexperienced manager, Chelsea are 6th in the PL against 2nd in La Liga. Against a team that has pretty much dominated the past 3 years and called one of the best teams in history.

That left flank got significantly weaker after Drogba went off, and he's a striker. Of course it plays a role that the two best defenders weren't playing.

Let's see...Barcelona scored 2 goals against both Inter Milan and Chelsea (which are very well known for their defending). If Barcelona were just slightly more lucky we wouldn't even be having this conversation. You can't "crack the Barca code". Just because Barcelona lost, doesn't mean they have been found out.
