Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
I'm not sure how many we took to our LDV vans trophy final but the attendance was 57,000. It was against Donny so was probably a considerable amount more than them.
Our play-off final is still the largest league two play-off final attendance ever. 61,000.
Both probably due to the amount of Bristolians suddenly supporting us when we came good. Like they did when the sheeds reached their play-off final. Dean Windass. Watching them cry was one of the greatest moments of my footballing life.

Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
The remaining out-of-contract Bristol Rovers' players are expected to find out shortly whether or not they have a future at the Memorial Stadium beyond the summer.
Mark McGhee has made decisions on the 10 players whose current deals expire this summer and the completed retained and released list was being finalised last night.
Amongst those set to discover their fates today are long-serving defender Byron Anthony and fellow senior first-team members Scott McGleish, Gary Sawyer, Wayne Brown and Lance Cronin.
It is understood that player of the year Danny Woodards is out of contract, but has an option to extend for a further 12 months.
Fringe players Michael Boateng, Charlie Clough, Kayne McLaggon and Charlie Reece make up the remainder of those uncertain of their futures.
Midfielder Brown and defender Sawyer look the most likely to be offered new deals after both played some part in Rovers' final few matches of the campaign following long-term injuries.
Anthony, who has made almost 200 appearances since arriving from Cardiff six years ago, and McGleish, however, look almost certain to leave the club after both spent the last part of the season out on loan at Hereford and Barnet respectively.
Goalkeeper Cronin, who was on loan at Ebbsfleet from February onwards, also looks likely to leave the club following the arrival of youngster Conor Gough from Charlton.
Clough and Reece, who both came through the ranks, also spent time out on loan last season and could be seen as surplus to requirements.
There are also doubts surrounding the futures of contracted pair Joe Anyinsah and Craig Stanley following speculation that they have both been told they are free to find new clubs ahead of the new season.
Former Rovers hero Jamie Cureton, meanwhile, says he would be keen to consider a return to the Memorial Stadium next season. He is out of contract at Leyton Orient.

Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
Yeaaa get rid of Lance Cronin, he was at Gillingham and conceded 7 at Accrington, at least 4 of them were howlers.
Gills chairman has got rid of a few however theres still 3 that are hanging around (Kuffour being one of them infact) to see the new manager.

Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
I'd release: Cronin, McGleish, Reece, and Clough. Unsure on Boateng as I've never seen him play and McLaggon was a decent player when he was in the youth teams, still hoping he comes good. I'd happily let Anyinsah leave.
Not sure on Cureton. Wouldn't mind him as a bench player, that's all.

I just looked at the match report from Gillingham - Rovers from this season, I remember your goal from Carayol. Starts at the half way line, skips past about 6 players and scores.

Carayol doesn't have Championship teams sniffing around him for nothing, one of the leagues best players, he's young and has bags of potential. He's gonna be quality.

What a wanker McCleary is. Gives us 3 months of good service in about 5 years at the club then fucks off at the earliest opportunity.
We'll be shit again next year. Think we'll finish between 15th and 21st.
Going with 17th.
