Leeds vs Millwall and Rangers in Manchester are the only ones I can think of recently. The worst cases are probably in the 70's and 80's.

Probably 70's/80's. Dad has allot of stories about it.

Rangers fans fucked up our city real bad, scum all of them.
As for recent Millwall at Leeds, Millwall v West Ham and Villa v Birmingham were all bit naawwty.
Hooliganism is no problem in England anymore and the news try to pluck a story out of anywhere. There is no need for the amount of police at games anymore yes teams still have an element even us but its nothing like the eighties and it never will be again.

If we talk about the amount of people involved then yes, but the amount of innocent people killed is a factor that overpowers that.

Why tarnish the rest of us by saying 'SPL fans?' They're fucking Rangers fans. When Celtic got to a European final did we trash Seville? No, we won a FIFA fair play award for good behaviour.

I think the ref was paid in this European cup final between Bayern and Leeds then the Leeds fans rioted after their team was totally robbed.

The uneducated American guess says Hillsborough or perhaps Millwall v West Ham.

Judging an entire league's fans over one team is quite silly.

I remember Red Star Belgrade v Dinamo Zagreb being insane in the early 90's. Can't remember what TV programme I saw it on.

Also my dad told me Copenhagen in '94 was crazy. Galatasaray fans murdered 4 Leeds supporters in the round before the final so it wasn't only Arsenal fans who travelled out to Copenhagen, it was Leeds', Swansea, Cardiff, Chelsea and more to give some pay back.
Piers Morgan got 37 Arsenal supporters banned from Highbury, even though they were attacked.

The same thing happened in Heysel after what had happened in Rome the year before. In Rome the year before Heysel the italian fans were going around in scooter gangs hunting down Liverpool supporters, stabbing and slashing dozens, many whom were family groups returning to hotels in the area.Rick Rosstrich wrote:Also my dad told me Copenhagen in '94 was crazy. One 13 year old boy was almost ripped apart needing 200 stitches in his face alone. Many hoteliers to let the fans back in, either out of spite or fear of attack on their premises. The got little protection from the italian police, who routinely attacked and robbed the English supporters in revenge for the defeat of their local team Roma. That night many desperate English fans, deserted by italian coach drivers booked to drive them to Rome airport, sought sanctuary at the British Emabassy. After events in Rome, club rivalries in England had been put aside Juventus were to catch the full fury of English Hooligan Elite. It should be understood that not just Liverpool supporters were there in Heysel. There were fans from different firms from all over the country, like Luton MIGS, Millwall Bushwackers, West Ham ICF, and Newcastle Toon Army and many others.

Start of the 90s, Leeds at Bournemouth was quite bad when we won promotion. They banned games on bank holidays after that.

Not much violence happens in Hull. My mum told me about Millwall come to Hull in the 80's and setting every single car on Boothferry Road on fire.
I haven't really witnessed much personally, obviously there was the Millwall shit at KC which wasn't really threatening. When I went to my first away game alone (legendary night game at Sheff Wed), some of them started to chase and like a fag I legged it with my mate.. I doubt much would have happened though seeing as there was thousands of Hull fans around and it was 2 mins from the ground.
Being locked in between fences at Stoke was cool. They kept throwing bricks over for half an hour, I chilled with a burger and sat on the kerb watching
Idk, the most scared at a football game I've been is when I walked all the way around Upton Park on my own. Obviously an orange shirt stands out at night too, not sure why I walked that way but yeah, everyone stared at me.
People should post what the worst they've witnessed in person. I imagine Leeds fans will have something decent and probably the likes of Mal who has been to lots of away games.

Haven't seen anything posted yet which is on the same scale as Rangers in Manchester. Fair enough rioting inside the stadium is bad but nothing mentioned comes cloes to thousands of them tearing through the entire city, it was complete carnage. The feature on crimewatch where it shows hundreds of them rounding on one police officer and stamping on his head is disturbing.

I haven't really experienced much hooliganism seeing as a lot of 'The Herd' have calmed down or been banned. Obviously there's still quite a few cases of fans going nuts but nothing extreme in recent years.
Two worst things I have experienced are both to do with Tottenham. First was in 2004 at the Arsenal victory parade where around 500 Tottenham fans thought they'd try crash the party, there was a huge fight for about an hour on Seven Sisters road. It might not have been as bad as I remember it, but I was only 13.
Other one was when we beat Tottenham 3-0 in 2008/09 and hundreds of Spurs fans just went crazy in the Holloway area, smashing up restaurants and pubs with kids in, they just didn't give a fuck.
Obviously the worst riots I've experienced weren't football related like the recent London riots.

My dad used to go to all the away matches in the 80's. Said there was always trouble. They used to get the football specials. The trains just for supporters. Said they were escorted everywhere.
Said he has been chased by gangs with his mates, all over the country. Saying he never used to wear colors because of this. Said London, and the midlands were the worst places to go.
One time he got the train to Manchester. City fans were waiting for them at the train station, and it all kicked off. Police put the Liverpool fans on the coaches/buses to Main Road. City fans put through the windows of the buses with bricks, and then the Liverpool fans then through the chairs out of the windows to them. Mad really.
Also, they were in Stoke? It started kicking off in the train station, and they were outnumbered. Then a train full of Everton supporters pulled into the station, and someone shouted them. Everton fans all came of the train, and helped the Liverpool fans.
At Old Trafford, United supporters would throw nails, and golf balls at them. And spit from the tiers above.
Fucking crazy shit.

Only fights I have seen, is when Napoli fans came to Liverpool. Napoli fans would walk around in packs, looking for a fights.

The worst I've seen was vs scum this season where things were being thrown at them. I almost got killed by a police horse galloping down the road.
Millwall is meant bad but I've not seen much. A few years ago there was lots of police rushing everywhere on the platform at London Bridge.
I didn't go but Bradford a couple of years back kicked off a bit. A few bus windows got smashed in.
I wasn't at this game but have seen these videos on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RWpwNhHPKE
I've been told that Stamford Bridge was the only ground that I wouldn't have got taken to when I was younger. I don't see how a bunch of foreign photographers can be bad though.

Rising up, back on the street - did my time, took my chances. Went the distance now I'm back on my feet, just a man and his will to survive. So many times it happens too fast - you trade your passion for glory. Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past, you must fight just to keep them alive. It's the eye of the tiger. It's the thrill of the fight, rising up to the challenge of our rival. And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger.
