    What an utterly stupid post.

Of course England can win it.
    Lol.

Personally I'd just take Defoe. He's going to be 4th choice anyway and its better to have players who know the system.

Much rather Hoilett than Downing, Walcott or Milner on the wing.

Why treat a major tournament as a rebuilding process?

I can see the advantage of not playing people who have no future with the national team, if there are players who can do an equally good/better job than them......but there's no point putting in people who are not ready.

I think if you put the right players into the team, and they are all fit, then there's a good chance. Pretty much every time we have these friendlies against the big teams....we have a massive list of injuries and it's not our ideal side out there on the pitch.

Obviously....whilst that is annoying, it is what we have to live with. Players are arguably more likely to get injured in the Premier League than in other leagues......

Look at Germany and what they did in the world cup, they brought in very young players and the average age was 22, they were fantastic. I'd really like to see England do the same.

Yeah I'm not saying to only bring young players in but the majority should be young. Germany did have experienced players like Klose, Podolski, Butt and Freidrech but the rest of the squad was young.

He was just 3rd choice GK because Adler got injured tbf shifty

Obviously it's a near perfect example but I don't think England have the amount of young quality players Germany have to build a similar team.

Nothing wrong with the likes of Walker, Smalling, Jones, Wilshere, Cleverley, Chaimberlain, Welbeck, Sturridge. shifty

I'm not saying build a team around them now similar to how Germany put in the likes of Khedira and Ozil straight away, but most of them should/will go in the summer.

All the players you guys are mentioning were still young at the time, the oldest player you guys mentioned is Wiese and he was 28 at the time Laughing To have an average age of 22 and be the third best team in the tournament was fantastic for Germany, I think England should do the same. It's a shame Wilshere and Cleverley were injured a lot this season (Wilshere didn't even play right? Neutral ) I think if those players stayed fit they would have had a good season and England would have had a good chance.

Well they're all Podolski's age or older, and you mentioned him. No younger than the likes of Milner, Walcott, Johnson, Young, Rooney. Cacau, Butt and Friedrich are all older than Wiese. The age of that Germany squad is being overstated just because ignorant English commentators didn't know a lot of the players and kept going on about a 'fresh, young squad.'

It certainly helps to have the right balance between youth and experience. For England I think they would perform better as a team if the majority of the squad was fairly experienced at international level. But hey nothing wrong with bringing young lads in like Chamberlain and Walker.

I didn't even have English commentators so I couldn't have taken their opinion Laughing Regardless of what you think, to me that squad was young. And Chamberlain is loved by the Arsenal fans and should be called up.

Also, the young players that Germany do have are just so much better than the English ones. Ozil, Muller, Khedira, Bender, Reus, Hummels etc. make players like Welbeck look like complete shit. Jones and Smalling are good, and Wilshere if he can recover, but otherwise... no.

21 appearances for Arsenal. Could have played more, but that's Wenger for you.

When he's played, he's looked good. Wouldn't be undeserving of a place in the squad.

Not been starting in recent weeks I don't think. Obviously a talent but it seems like his being dropped to the bench has coincided with Arsenal recovering from that awful form they had.
