Clint Dempsey, good enough for a top 6 team?

Dempsey is on shit hot form at the moment, anyone reckon he could start for a team in the top 6 and still play as well as he is now?

whats his all round play like? can he take on players? is he a playmaker? Hes scored a few goals but I dont really know much about him

I know some fulham fans that rated Bobby Zamora way higher then Dempsey, and look at him now

I just checked and it was Villa. But he's only started two games this month.

He could be a good squad player for Spurs

I've always seen Dempsey as a second forward.

He would get goals. Even if he's not amazing on the ball he would make up for it.

Bale and Lennon are irreplaceable on the wings and Ade would be better as a loan man up front.

But yeah, he could play for a top 6 side, the only thing against him is his age

Maybe Newcastle or Arsenal.

He would certainly make the match day lineup every game but I doubt he would actually be in the starting XI. I could see him getting a few starts when the top strikers need rest and be available as a super sub type of deal.

He has been good enough for a while now. I'd probably stick him in the bracket of Tim Cahill, works hard, good in the air but Dempsey is also good with his feet and has the advantage of being able to play on the right or left too.

Dempsey is twice the player Cahill is now days.

i think he can replace cahill in everton for that role they always used to do for cahill easily

also i think he can play same role as robbie keane behind bent in aston villa too before he loan out but everton and aston villa arent that good

maybe newcastle or liverpool he can start in these teams i think there is a good chance

i like dempsey he improve so much from when i first saw him but he doesnt seem to me like having outstanding qualities to play in champions league side and rather being excellent in certain things he is solid in everything. but in saying that look at gervinho and kalou, it shows its possible to play at that level ando not nesserially have any glaring outstanding qualities

He's better than the likes of Bellamy, Kuyt, Downing and Maxi so I think he'd be good enough to start for Liverpool. Whether or not they're a 'top 6 team' is another question though .

I think Martin Jol would be okay with letting him go for a good price.
I possibly could see Liverpool making a offer that includes a swap with Kuyt.
Jol is friends with Kuyt apparently too.

I have been a fan of Clint for ages now. He is Fulham's all time leading goalscorer in the Premiership.
