Liquidation means that Rangers Football Club, in it's current form, will die. What part of that can't you understand?

It's a nice sentiment that the club = the fans, but Rangers FC will be gone. If a new club starts up from the ashes then that's exactly what it'll be; a new club. No more Rangers FC.

    Todays developments

No European football for Rangers next season, administrators confirm

    http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/300064-no-european-football-for-rangers-next-season-administrators-confirm/

Rangers owner Craig Whyte not fit and proper person.
Scottish Football Association reveal Rangers face a charge of bringing the game into disrepute after their investigation into Craig Whyte takeover

SFA statement on Rangers inquiry in full

Stewart Regan confirmed the SFA inquiry into Craig Whyte had concluded and were presented to the board.

"I can confirm that the Scottish FA convened a special board meeting at Hampden Park today to discuss the findings of the independent inquiry into Rangers FC, prepared by the Chair, The Right Honourable Lord William Nimmo Smith.

"Principally, it is the belief of the board, taking into account the prima facie evidence presented today, that Mr Craig Whyte is not considered to be a fit and proper person to hold a position within association football.

"We will be writing to Mr Whyte in relation to those findings and shall seek a response within seven days.

"The report submitted by Lord Nimmo Smith, having been considered fully by the board, highlights a number of other potential rule breaches by the club and its owner. The report will now be used as evidence and forwarded to a judicial panel for consideration and determination as per the protocol.

"As such, the report’s contents will not be published at this time. Nevertheless, I can confirm that the club is facing a charge of bringing the game into disrepute. Specifically, areas of potential breach to be considered by the Judicial Panel include:

    Obligations and duties of members
    Official return
    Financial records
Division of receipts and payment of expenses

"I would like to clarify the situation relating to possible non-disclosure of payments to players, and in particular the Employee Benefit Trust. Having noted the Scottish Premier League’s intention to investigate this matter, the board has decided to allow the SPL to complete this process, given our potential status as the appellate body. We retain our position until such time as the SPL’s investigation is concluded.

"Finally, we have sent a letter to the Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, advising them that failure to pay monies owed to another member constitutes a breach of the cup competition rules. Consequently, the club faces disciplinary action unless they make payments due to Dundee United from their recent William Hill Scottish Cup tie. A notice of complaint has been issued to that effect."

Fans organized a protest tonight outside Ibrox stadium. Their clubs future is uncertain, tomorrow Rangers could cease to exist! So they needed to demonstrate, they took to the message boards. Imagine it, the roar from the Ibrox faithful outside the entrace of their stadium, thousands lining the streets! After all, as Jela says, they are and always will be the greatest fans in the world! What a turnout, I'm truly impressed.

The taxman is willing to do a deal with Rangers for £5million i.e. a CVA but there is one hitch, they won't do it with Craig Whyte. Although they're willing to do it with a new owner, Paul Murray?

This is really good news for Rangers about the wage cuts. It's a short term fix, to fulfil their fixtures. Still though, liquidation inevitable.

As for the others, those are from an article in the Sun, based on wishful thinking by the administrators. They are running stories this morning about buyers lined up, ticketus deal unravelling, tax man willing to take 10p in the £1 if Rangers get rid of Whyte. All this took place between Whyte being called improper by the SFA and their paper rolling off the printing press this morning. Of all the stories in that paper, the players taking a wage cut is the only one with any substance. Nevertheless, soaked it up like a sponge.

Backroom staff at Rangers have been told they will not be made redundant.

Administrators Duff and Phelps continued wage cut negotiations with the Ibrox club’s players on Friday, after they began last week.

As it emerged that several players signed deals to take significantly reduced pay cuts until the end of the month, non playing staff at Rangers have been informed their jobs are safe.

Well there have been one or two, but generally the pay cuts just buy Rangers a bit of time, the axe will still fall. You know that, right? No taking away from Rangers players though, they've done well for Rangers there. But I'm just saying it's like popping a cork into a burst dam.

All players have taken wage cuts for 3 months.

There were no redundancies, the 2 that left, asked to leave.
