Can I just say about Downing that doay was easily the best game I've seen him play for us and that's by quite a fucking margin. If he can do what he was doing today(especiall the first half) ona regular basis then I will be happy. Those deliveries, explosive pace, twists and turns were all what I was expecting from him since he signed.

The only chance that could possibly happen is if we won the FA Cup and got 4th.

We won't get fourth.

Very true. But he's arguably been the worst player of ours this season and I've been so critical and disappointed in him so it's great to finally see what he's been doing at Villa, here in a red shirt. Like I said also, I agree that it was just Cardiff but in a cup final, any team can come out on top. Look at us v Milan. or even Birmingham against Arsenal last season. I'm not making excuses obviously, just trying to spread some light

Torres has never played particularly well for Spain though, he's almost always been overshadowed by Villa, the obvious exception being the 2008 Final in which Villa was injured.
