Celtic would obviously need success in Europe to support themselves, but if they did, I see no reason why they couldn't improve. There is an upper barrier on how much they could improve yes, but the point stands.

Lots of clubs in Europe monopolize their leagues and are still fine.

Not possible as they would need to displace another club in the middle and it would be unfair on the other clubs behind them. To play in English football they need to start right from the bottom.

United have won 4 of the last 5 Premier Leagues, 12 out of 19 altogether and the Premier League's pretty reputable.

The loss of Jos Hooiveld started the downfall of the SPL.

Thanks RR. Likewise with La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1.Dan wrote:Lu❣s Suarez wrote:Lots of clubs in Europe monopolize their leagues and are still fine.

I was thinking more on the lines of Steuea in Romania in the 90's, Red Star in Serbia in the 90's, Widzew Lodz in Poland in the 80's and part of the 90's, Sparta Prague in the 2000's, Kobenhavn in the 2000's, Ajax for most of history, probably a mention from Russia, Ukraine, Belgium and Greece as well.

Ah yes. I completely forgot that the SPL ranks up there with the Premier League, Ligue 1, La Liga and Serie A.
It is pointless comparing now to clubs in the 90's and 80's. It's a different ball-game completely.
If Rangers were to leave, Celtic would be worse off for it. Yeah, they might win a few more SPL titles, but who is seriously going to want to move to a league such as that?

What you are saying is completely subjective though.
Celtics chairman has already quashed the suggestion that Celtic would be worse off without Rangers
The league would be more competitive without Rangers. Their financial doping has resulted in the demise of Scottish football. The idea that it would be worse in a league that would immediately present more opportunities for success is patently absurd. It would present other teams with the chance to compete. This is the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate our league.

Everything from second.
If celtic play it right then they can improve the spl but it wont happen as they need to do well in europe over a long period of time.

That's fine, but so far you haven't offered anything substantial at all in the way of a rebuttal.

Reports suggest #Rangers owner Craig Whyte has left the country.......he's gone to the South of France......that'll go down well in Glasgow.

Scottish clubs need to stop trying to be billy big bolloxs, and think they can compete financially with Championship sides. League two is their level.

Yep, quite astonishing isn't it? It was thought that only Murray was responsible for not paying tax, Whyte took over knowing about the tax case, yet didn't pay any tax himself.
Meanwhile,
Celtic will officially write to the SPL, SFA & the SFL with regards to Championships, Scottish Cups & League Cups that Rangers won over a defined period in relation to the current HMRC’s investigations into Rangers financial affairs after HMRC themselves unsuccessfully moved yesterday to put Rangers in Administration!

Been reading many Rangers forums over the past few days and it's great to see that the whole club including fans are behind Sir Craig Thomas Whyte.

Yes, few may be confused by the latest developments. But the majority of Rangers fans know what he is doing is the best for the club.
Now that Rangers are facing a £100million bill from HMRC, 8 EPL clubs are now being investigated.

Now we will only recieve a fraction of the fine possible after securing our own administrators rather than HMRC i.e. we beat them to it.
Also the amount of money that he has spent on the club since he has arrived.
