Didn't he take Turkey to the Euro semis?Rei Andros wrote:Out goes the man with the second or first best winning percentage in the English NT's history (67%).
Agree with Danny on the Hiddink debate. Who were South Korea, Australia, and Russia on the international stage before he took over? As far as I remember Turkey is the only major blip on his managerial CV in that stage.

I was genuinely quite worried when he was on ITV for Peterbrough vs Sunderland. So surprised he didn't say anything bad.Jordi wrote:It's not Barry Fry is it?Barton wrote:Who's watching this old bastard on SSN ranting about how Redknapp NEEDS to be the next England manager?

No, that was Fatih Terim. He took Russia to the semis in that same tournament though.

Re: Capello Quits
Just heard about this
Gonna fuck up the Euro's now.
Doubt Arry will leave Spurs mid-season. Also I wouldn't like the thought of him taking on both roles It will have a detrimental effect on both Spurs & England. There aint any other English managers I would let anyone near the squad. Galbiati/Pearce (No am not high) should take over for a good length of time, I don't wanna see the F.A rush into getting a new manager and then there being another fuck-up. When Arsenal inevitably fail to finish top 4 we should take Wenger, He loves working younger players and bringing players through who he can work with his whole career, he also prefers to work with what he's got rather than spend which I what you have to do as an International manager. I really think he would do well on the International stage.
Also Barry Fry is dickhead who needs putting down for the good of the nation.

I wouldn't mind Wegner.

He failed to take Turkey to this years Euros.
EDIT: Which means he doesn't have a job. Interesting.

Lets get this straight... Redknapp has won one thing, ever. He has never managed at international level, and only has a limited amount of experience of continental football. He is no where near the top of my list.

The press sort off reflect the general view points of the 'fans'.
Just look at Talksport ect ...
By making Arry the England manager if they want a good England manager get Giovanni Trapattoni

Sorta true.
But this is why you have backroom staff, to help the manager.

Alternatively, he's hardly managed big clubs in his career, and it's not as if he'd be the only man to be appointed England manager without international experience.Big_Lad_Pardew wrote:Lets get this straight... Not really. I'd say that that only applies for his tactics to defend set-pieces. It's usually more down to the personnel as opposed to his tactics. I'm not all for Wenger anyway. There are a couple of things which make him slightly ridiculous, like the fact that he never informs the players about their opposition. He'd get England playing some great stuff though and he'd make sure that the next generation is not as terrible as the previous one.

I would personally admire Wenger as manager of England, because he is the finest talent spotter in the game, but Sean was adament that tactics waz extremely important in international managers, so I felt I should point out that his suggestion is one of the worst managers in the leuage in terms of defensive tactics.

Eh.. fine.. his defensive tactic awareness is quite bad then. It's certainly not exceptional
