Economy has played a major role in the bloodiest wars too.

Brilliant.Dan wrote:That reminds me, was stopped today by this religious group at Uni and asked them to contribute to their wall.
I was asked.. 'What is bad about the world?'
Despite me saying, 'My opinion is a)not what you want to here, b)something that will probably offend you and c)something that completely goes against what you are trying to do here' they insisted I put it up.
Then they accused me of being 'close-minded' and a 'hypocrite' for putting religion.
Cunts.

And rightfully so. Is religion to blame for the worldwide economic crisis? Is religion responsible for the Iraq War? The thousands of deaths in revolutions and protests?
I'm not saying people haven't used religion to cause problems, but putting the blame on religion for the world's problems is not fair and false.
You think without religion we would have all gotten on?Danno wrote:Big_Lad_Pardew wrote:

Perhaps I didn't pick the right words, generally religious people think that believing in god is the just, right thing to do and that surely can't be right if so much suffering has been caused through name of god.

You presume a rational authority would have broken out? Religion aided educated and civilization, which ushered us into a new scientific age, which ultimately supplemented its own downfall.Dan wrote:Big_Lad_Pardew wrote:

We'd have been a lot more advanced, scientifically and possibly socially as well.

You can share your opinion, but it doesn't make it true. Saying the world is bad because of religion is grossly attacking religion.
Is that not a moral issue generated by fuckwits? i dont know....Danno wrote:Stem Cell therapy would be more advanced for one.
