It is clear for everyone to see that Luis Suarez was sincerely distressed by the sight of seeing Scott Parker in pain as a result of an accidental kick to the stomach, we must not let Suarez' past offences cloud our judgement when deciding whether or not he truly intended to make contact with the opponent.easley91 wrote:I think he only apologized to try and not get the yellow card or stop the ref from sending him off saying 'it was intentional!'Jay wrote:Clearly going for the volley. Look at the way he apologized straight away, true gentleman. I think Suarez deserves praise for these actions, a round of applause would be fitting.

Again, ignoring the fact that's where the ball was travelling. Laurencio has already explained it. Stop being so ignorant.
So if a ball is traveling on a certain path, but there is a goalkeeper in the way, does that give the player the right to go with a foot up or charge the keeper?

I also don't understand how it got there because there was no tackle I remember too.Very strange but it was definitely there before Skrtel's tackle I can assure you

Maybe you need to watch it again...
Notice how Parker's right leg never moves back after being pushed. If anything Suarez pushes Parker into the path of the ball.

Are you serious? the ball is a meter above his foot, a professional footballer wouldn't miss kick by a fucking meter
Neither am I, and I'm not watching the whole match to see two incidents that last like a few seconds each.Mal wrote:easley91 wrote:

Oh, alright then. I'm going to start running towards a random person on the street and if he doesn't move out of my way, I'm going to elbow him in the face. Self-defence, no? You can't prove that McCarthy was going to block him. He looks like he's shifting his body as Rooney approaches, doesn't mean that he was going to block him.
Saying if you take Parker out of the equation doesn't matter, because that is all ifs and buts.Scott wrote:Fonseca wrote:

Oh my god Yeah, it's a metre above because Parker fucking headed it away, you utter idiot. If you took Parker out of the equation, it would have been a perfectly timed volley.

There are 4 things I notice above all else. First his eyes are fixated on the ball, his kick is next to perfectly timed with the trajectory of the ball, when he hits parker his entire body shows signs of surprise (you can't fake that) and he seems to pull his leg back instantly instead of "completing" the kick.

What are the signs of surprise? Signalling to the ref, he does this almost instantly....

Completing the kick? Was he meant to pull off a Mortal Kombat fatality and just kick right through Parker's body?

Suarez didn't expect Parker to get to it.
The scenario you described happens all the time though. Does that means the players purposely try to kick the goalkeeper?

Of course not. However you do not react like that when you are intentionally causing harm.
