Laughing Yeah, I'm sure he will be unhappy at another player scoring goals instead of a few innocuous crosses that trickle infront of him.

I don't see how people think Gervinho will come good. He blatantly lacks the technique to succeed at this level. The way he stumbles with the ball at his feet and how he can never get a powerful shot on target, those things won't change now.

He gets into 1 on 1 positions and just hasn't been able to finish them, is the air around him different than it was in France? He was a clinical goal scorer. He just hasn't settled in and the pressure is always in the back of his mind. He will come good Very Happy

It would be silly to say we've seen the best of Gervinho

You said RVP moans we NEED someone greedy.

Why did you then say "I'm sure he will be unhappy at another player scoring goals instead of a few innocuous crosses that trickle infront of him."

So do you care about him moaning or not? I'd prefer he be as happy as possible.

People said the same about Nani. When Gerv was at Lille he was able to do what he wanted, he was their most productive player. Over here RVP is the man and we play a different style of football so he has to adapt.

Sturridge would have been perfect, he could have covered for RVP in the sriker role if needed too. The only concern about him is (imo) he's not good on his right foot and playing at Arsenal he'd need to cut in quite a lot.

Gervinho has been a poor finisher his whole career. Its nothing to do with moving to a new league and nobody should expect him to suddenly improve that Laughing

Nani was 20 (I think) when he went to Manchester United and in his first season showed a lot of promise. Gervinho's 24 now and looks about as good as Nani was back in 2008. I don't think he's going to make it but to each his own.

And I wouldn't call Sturridge greedy or selfish, he's just frustrated right because he's being forced to play RW (Says he's happy playing there and just being in the team but let's be serious, that's just media bullshit) when he wants to be the main man. Seeing Torres get chance after chance and not scoring chances you know you would tuck away with ease is bound to be frustrating and probably is affecting their chemistry, there are times where he just refuses to pass to Torres. Bad enough he can't get service from the midfield but when your partner upfront doesn't want to pass then you are pretty much fucked.

He's shown his ability to bring others into play and set up chances early on in the season and even at Bolton.

Isn't that classed as being selfish ? Also, not trying to be funny here but unless you know him personally how can you know he lied about being happy playing at RW?

What I meant was you can't just label him as selfish just cause he's going through a little patch when he's not been like that for the majority of his career, if that makes sense. There's a huge difference between being RW at Chelsea and RW at Arsenal, at Arsenal he won't be the main creative outlet (Not as vital as he is at Chelsea) and chances will be put on a plate for him. RVP normally comes deep which mean the wingers pretty much end up playing as strikers at times, movement like this is non-existent at Chelsea. He would have no reason to be selfish so you worrying that he might bring that over to Arsenal is a bit silly.

No one knows these things for certain but using common sense you only have to watch him play to see that he is clearly not that happy there. You can even see the difference between the Sturridge at the start of the season to the one now, he's changed and it's clear to see. Or do you think AvB is just shouting at him for no reason?

Was going to say something else too but I've forgot now. Dry Smile Probably remember when I get back from the shop.

Really? because If I was Henry I'd be depressed as fuck if I had to go from playing with Pirés + Ljungberg to Walcott + Gerboué

Decent dribbler at best, he uses his pace to beat his man 90% of the time
Can't finish to save his life
Makes the wrong decision 90% of the time
    Decent defender actually
Does well to get into positions (can't do anything with it though)

    That's basically it

He's already been good, and he'll get better.

The frustration towards him is undeserved, he is extremely good at getting past a man, when we were without him and Oxo-cube isn't on the pitch we are so slow and predictable, Gervinho adds direct running and pace.

He's a perfectly decent player, he's nothing out of this world but he always puts in a good shift and does well. I honestly don't know what you guys are complaining about, when he's on the ball shit always happens, we need people like him to take games to the other team.

Without him we're very one dimensional, it's a good think Oxlade-Chamberlain stepped up to add the directness and guile to our play again.

People talking about Gervinho? What about that shit other winger we've got called Walcott who's been in this league for how many years now and has done fuck all? Gervinho's better than him and I too can't wait for him to come back, but it will be a shame to see Wenger drop OX (you know how Wenger is) Hopefully he drops Walcott and we have a front 3 of Gerv, Ox and RvP. Gervinho's dribbling's much better than Walcott. Sturridge as of now's playing better than Gervivnho, but Gervinho back in Lille this time last year was ripping shit up with Hazard on the other side. Have any of you been watching the ACON? He's been playing very well for Ivory Coast. Again, people slating Santos? He's better than Clichy was last season and gives us another option when we run out of ideas and his defending had improved just before he got inured.
