Around that time, he won a header over Rafael, the crowd got behind him, and he looked a lot more confident and threw his weight around much more. Carroll played well, it was a hard job for him up there on his own, and we all know he is not the most mobile of players. But i think he deserves praise for today's performance and especially the effort and so does the team and squad for getting that result.

You misinterpreted what I said. It wasn't a jibe at Carroll. Carroll linked up well, some impressive touches and flick ones. Hold onto the ball well.
Tracked back, and put in some good tackles.
Also once he layed of the ball, he ran toward the box to try and get on the end of the cross. First time I have seen him do this in a long time. Couldn't fault his effort today.
