By the way I'm talking about Jackson Martinez. He's pretty much another Hugo Rodallega, but better.

Oh right, aren't we just linked with him, what's he like, could u give a summery of what he's like?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Fast, strong and good in the air. He's pretty talented to be honest but he's like Rodallega, he'd be unstoppable one game and then be a bit quite the next two or three.
I don't know, I hear Rodallega has really improved since his Mexico days so that might change.

Yeah Rodellega has really improved. Think it's 1 goal this season and that took a big deflection.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I know jack shit about him now but he was pretty inconstant in Mexico. His record isn't so bad but he would score like a hat trick in one game and then go 5 or 6 games without being able to finish a sandwich.
I assumed he was doing well because I heard teams like Arsenal, Juventus, and Sevilla were after him.

Jackson is a FIFA 12 Legend. Pretty good player but very injury prone. Whoever plays UT or Career mode needs to get him.

Well what do you know you're new striker(the real one) actually did score tonight. Marco Bueno came in at the 70th minute and scored a brace that gave Pachuca the victory.
I know he's only 17 but someone get the kid some acne cream.
I might be wrong but I think this is his debut too. Unless he debuted last week.
Showing off those poaching skills.
By the way that Blue team is Luis Garcia's team.

terrible performance, not sure why we went with 3 centre backs
everybody was all over the over place, Carroll should have started.
fuck this =, bring back Aquilani

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Formation was never the problem. We played the exact same formation last season against Stoke and we comfortably beat them 2-0, Suarez' debut. The 3-4-2-1. Problem was the players in it. And let's be honest, even this season, that formation counted Stoke's gameplan perfectly, they never had a meaningful shot or set piece all game. And Stoke can be a pretty difficult team to play.
Defence was fine in Skrtel, Carragher and Coates. Enrique and Johnson were fine on the wings. Problems came from the middle, the supporting players, and striker. Gerrard and Adam in the middle doesn't fill me with confidence, Gerrard's not the problem, it's just Adam, he's useless, you could see right from the kick off there was an inbalance in central midfield. And for this game, Gerrard clearly should of played further up.
Supporting players were Henderson and Downing. One is not really a player who excels in the final third of the pitch, yet. And who is more suited to playing deeper. (Henderson). And one is a winger who doesn't excel in central areas at all. (Downing). So I couldn't really work out why Kenny went with that. No matter how bad Kuyt has been or is, he was never gunna' get the right support from them pair, poor tactically from Kenny in that respect. Where as in the same fixture last season, the supporting players were Gerrard and Meireles, bit of a difference in class there to be honest, from Henderson and Downing. Meireles actually scored too.
The killer for me though, was tempo. Weren't quick enough moving the ball. And that comes down to not having the right players on the pitch. Lucas was the biggest miss yesterday, he's the tempo setter, it's a great tool to have from midfield. We missed him badly I thought, he gets the ball moving and inserts flow and drive into our game. And he passes that on to other players. When we played Stoke last season, we moved the ball much quicker, but that was because we had the likes of Lucas, Aurelio, Meireles, Gerrard, Suarez in the side. All quick with the ball at feet, where as today it was Adam, Henderson, Downing, Kuyt. You see the difference?
I knew from the first 20 minutes we weren't gunna' get a positive result, bar a set piece, penalty, fluke goal. We lost our impotece bad style too. I mean there's having sustained possession and making your opponent work to get the ball back and then there's just assing around with the ball, doing absolutely nothing with it, that was us yesterday after 20 minutes.
Poor game all round. Best thing about yesterday was getting a hot dog and chips on the way out.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I agree with most of that Dean.
Enrique, Henderson, Coates, Suarez, Bellamy all look like players that can play in a high tempo, pass and move team. Like we did last season.
Downing, Carroll and Adam all play in direct, counter attacking team. Were they are used to be being static and pretty one dimensional.
I think Kenny has tried to mixed the two, and it has failed big time. We don't have a specific style. It looks like, player X has good stats, player Y has good stats. Lets try and get them into the same side.
Tweeted this last night, "Between Downing,Hendo,Gerarrd,Kuyt,Adam all together they have played 89 PL games this season.Scored a grand total off 5 goals between them". When I saw the lineup, I know we weren't going to score apart from a fluke.
Was kinda pissed off to finish the game with Skrtel, Carragher and Coates on the pitch. Also we haven't got anyone in the side apart from Gerrard that can break down a defense that parks the bus. No skill, no imagination, no pace.
Kenny needs to address this, because the defence is fine. He needs to go out, and bring in a top class winger/striker. Not some decent player, that hides under pressure. He needs be unpredictable like Suarez. If he doesn't we won't get 5th with Kuyt, Carroll starting most games.

In fairness I think Adam can break down sides that park the bus but when he's got no runners he can't play through balls.

Carroll frustrates me so much. Half the time when there's a good ball crossed in to him, he'll fall over appealing for a penalty

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
To be honest, i don't think Adam played bad at all, he played some great balls to Enrique and Downing, there was no-one ahead of him at times either which would have made his job a lot more difficult.
The thing that annoys me about Carroll is that he just has no desire or hunger, when he was at Newcastle he'd chase down every ball, barge straight through defenders and try to get on the end of every cross. For us he just strolls around passing the ball away every time he gets it and won't chase anything. He played like Newcastle Carroll against Wolves earlier this season but other than that he's not helped himself.

I thought he was alright against Man City in the Carling Cup, he did chase after the ball, and he looked pretty fast at some points.

Yes, and we change our attacking philosophy.

We're not mid-table team. Kind of inbetween the top teams and the mid-table teams. We're just kind of in limbo aren't we. Very much a work in progress. We've been like this for years now though.

Work in progress, that is showing no progress. Doing the same mistakes over and over again, and not learning from them.
Or either we learn mistakes the hard way, all the time.

When I mention we missed Lucas, you make a sarcastic reply. When Dean mentions it, you say nothing. Why?

I read something you might like in a fairly unreliable source, but even unreliable sources are right once in a while. You have representatives in Bilbao talking about buying Llorente.
