Lie With Me(2005) - awful story line, hard to follow with all the sex, but so much sex in it, couldve been a porno for all i know, i only really watched it for the sex appeal (5/10)

Chronicle - decent film, plot builds well and pretty good acting in it (8/10)

Black Swan - great acting, quite hard to understand the film if your not fully concentrating. But its good (8/10)

Going to watch Girl With The Dragon Tattoo tonight.

I've heard good things about it.

I watched The Debt last night. Decent film with an alright story. Some of the accents were pathetic and I spotted a 1980's car when it was supposedly 1966.

Kinda off topic, but how do you find out future DVD release dates from Cinema in the UK? I watched Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in the beginning of January but just checked Play.com and says its due for release on DVD on the 16 May. The fuck?

Haven't read the book but the movie is great, in my opinion.

I might read the book because I always like to compare and contrast between the two mediums.

I can understand that you might have read that the film wasn't great, even though that is entirely wrong. But to say Mara is shit, that's just utter rubbish. Full commitment, complete dedication to the cause, completely breathtaking in her role as Lisbeth Salander. She got nominated for an Oscar and they detest films like that, so she must be doing something right.

Not sure how it compares to the book or the Swedish films, but it's a good film in its own right. Fincher doesn't make bad movies.

In terms of the plot, yes. However, I've heard that it's a series and I want to start from the beginning if I'm going to be reading the books and also for the reason mentioned in my previous post.

I may read the books as well since David Fincher won't be returning to direct the other two so they could potentially be poor.

Are they related in anyway? Or can I just pick up anyone of them without missing some plot from the previous movie.

I don't know who you're asking, the guy who just started reading the first book or the other two who have only watched the first film and are discussing the possibility of reading the books.

I thought they already made the three films (well they did, but by a different director). So I guess I'll just watch Dragon Tattoo.

They have. They're in Swedish though. An English adaptation of the first film was just released in December of 2011.
