Re: The quality and attraction of Celtic
Out of interest, do you think Celtic are better than the current worst team in the EPL too, Blackburn?

And it's very delusional to think you have a good chance of signing a striker that, after signing for Celtic from a Championship team, said he had turned down offers from lower Premiership sides but chose Celtic because he didn't want to be at a struggling team in the Premiership and seen Celtic as a better lure for him. After playing well and attracting interest, why would he go back down to a CHAMPIONSHIP side, a side worse than the team he currently plays for, let alone a bottom half Premiership team!? Which you will maybe be next year, if you're lucky.
Very ambitious lot you are.
Can you provide us with quotes from said player?
"As soon as I heard about Celtic being interested in me my mind was made up.
"I thought I knew how big the club was but when I came up I realised they were even bigger.
"There were a couple of little Premier League clubs interested, like Blackpool, but they're not going to be challenging for the title, are they?
"Celtic are challenging for the title and a place in the Champions League and that's what I want. I didn't want to go anywhere else.
"It's about the size of the club, the games they play, in Europe and challenging for the title, you can't ask for much more than that.
"I listened to my dad's opinion, bounced off him a little bit, but as soon as I heard Celtic were involved I didn't want to go anywhere else."
Wouldn't let me post the link.

Robbie Keane also supported them when he was young.

Aye. Don't think they have the worst team though. Norwich's, Bolton's and Wigan's are worse. Just the manager and the lack of morale.

Celtic would not get a win at OT and a point at Anfield

Rafael in centre-mid? Carrick at centre-back? No Rooney? Udinese are probably at least on a par with Liverpool and we got a point away there.

MickStupp wrote:Well your Ronaldo comparison seems flawed. I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say with it but how many of Ronaldo shirts are bought outside Madrid? When you consider that people who have Real down as their 2nd or even 3rd favourite team may have a shirt, besides the dedicated supporters, that means their commercial reach is much larger than the Old Firm. They don't have any globally recognised players and there can't be many casual Old Firm fans who'd be willing to buy merchandise. I even had a pair of Man Utd football boots as a kid and I didn't support them (can't remember how I got them).Fonseca wrote:
Not nearly as much as Celtic and Rangers apparently
To show that deluded cunt how much commercialism is actually worth, it's not flawed at all
What's flawed with you saying the old firm doesn't have recognised players, on the Celtic team there is a dozen of weak footballers but good in their respective countries.
You're a realist, that's good and all but I'd like that deluded fool to address me so he doesn't make Scots look more retarded

Wow we had a CM at RB our 2nd choice keeper and a 17 year old LB playing his 2nd senior game so not really an excuse they should have smashed us.ConorCelticFC wrote:Drake wrote:Celtic would not get a win at OT and a point at Anfield

Yeah.. because you're squad's shit. We wouldn't have to resort to that, and we've had a stupid amount of injuries this season.

Re: The quality and attraction of Celtic
Its not about who could get a one of result against each other, its about the strenght of the teams and sqauds and most of the SPL sqauds would i think struggle in the BPL. But i would also say that if Celtic and Rangers moved to the BPL they would obviously strenghten their sqauds, but the squads they have now i think would struggle big time.

I agree. Even moreso if people from either club did one as you naturally rate your own players higher.

Olsson over Izaguirre and Rochina over Forrest? You clearly don't watch Celtic. Also, our squad is much stronger.

I rate both of them but Izaguirre is our best player and Forrest is a class above Rochina, especially on the right.
