Click the arrow beside senior squad, go to reserve squad/youth and call a load up and play them. Not sure how to cancel a friendly but I'm sure you can somehow.

there's a giant button in fixtures that says "Cancel Friendly"

i dunno, for some reason, some friendlies can't be cancelled. i don't know how the game decides it

gilardino gets called regularly, even though he's played 10 games and scored 0 this season

i love bundesliga in real life, but they did it poorly in FM. i haven't tried it in FM12 yet, but i tried stuttgart and dortmund in FM11, and both times were terrible. did a few in the older FM's, but still bad

player ratings are terrible unless you're bayern. every team plays more or less the same. and if you have a player coming back from injury you're screwed because you can only play U-23 players in your "reserve" team

not to mention (unless you're bayern/bremen) you have an entire squad of U-23 players just sitting there rotting with no fixtures for the entire season because SI doesn't have the lower divisions for germany. these players don't develop properly because they all lack match fitness. inevitably they depreciate in market value

and you can't loan ALL them out because it upsets team chemistry in your senior squad somehow

bundesliga in FM is broken, simple as

drivescore i alternate between 4-1-3-2 and 4-2-3-1

when im feeling confident i go 4-1-3-2, but in the big games 4-2-3-1 (untill i concede)
