I have a good goalkeeper and two good strikers, and that's about it.

I'm gonna try and break the top two in Scotland.
What would be a good team to do that with?

Hibs seem to have a solid side, they have Leigh Griffiths.

Hearts seems to be the third best team in the league. So probably them.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
Whatever you do, sign a quality striker. My leading goalscorer is a defender
What players did you have? These strikers are utterly useless...
Edit:
Damn goalkeeper. Leading comfortably against Invernesse and he drops the ball when catching it...
On the plus side, I can't say this isn't interesting though.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
sometimes i wonder how AI determine what signings they want to make
over the course of a year, tottenham signed isla, vargas, and tremoulinas. all €15m+
why would any team want 3 first-team left wingers/wingbacks (they have bale also obviously). second of all, how does spurs have all this money when they've barely sold anyone

Gonna look to frees, loans and cheap players from Championship clubs.
I feel like a League 1 club.

I actually know this!
When you start the game the database has "transfer targets". If that list contains a lot of wingbacks, then in all likelyhood the team will sign a lot of wingbacks. Saw Inter sign 5 strikers in one window
Which is also why in most games teams tend to sign the same players.
Also, Spurs are rich. They have wealthy owners.

Can't afford championship players
Drew against Invernesse because my strikers are useless and my goalkeeper dropped the ball
Edit:
Celtic are 9th, even behind me

really?? thats what that is? i thought transfer targets are just single players, not positions
not that i dont believe you. makes a lot of sense though. in my save liverpool signed julio sergio from me and tim wiese from bremen. and they still have reina and doni
pretty retarded thing to have in FM if you ask me
5 strikers i could understand. you can rotate a lot with your forwards. but wingbacks/keepers aren't really rotatable....

No it is players. But if you have a bunch of left wingbacks in that list the team is likely to go for all of them (I dunno why, they just do).

Crap. 2 minutes in against Rangers and they score. Looks like I won't keep the scoreline respectable then.

All I want for christmas is a pacy striker who can finish. Catching these teams on the counter would be so easy.

The allmighty Jordi.
Coincidentally Celtic are 2 poins above the relegation position in my save

Aberdeen of course.
I'm taking the "Steve Bruce" approach to team talks. You got smashed 3-0, but at least you looked good on telly.
