Ref had his back to Balo anyway, Balo had his eyes on the ref though when spitting. Can't send him off for that.

Spitting.
He didn't spit on anyone, he got pissed off at the ref then spat on the ground. If he got sent off because of that it would have totally been of his reputation.
I think we all know what he meant by that spit.
So people now can get sent off if their spits are deemed to have a malicious motive, even if they don't come anywhere close to hitting someone?

I figure he'd do very well for them if they got some quality crossers in the side. You see how good he is at winning duels when Gerrard sticks the ball in there.

Yes. You don't have to hit anyone with your spit to be punished. I'm not the one who makes the rules.

Richards is City's most effective creative outlet when Silva isn't on the pitch. Their midfield is completely devoid of creativity at the moment.

Come on now. Even with them out they have palyers who'd walk into virtually any other team in the league.

So what's the cut off line here? Just about every player spits. What does the time lapse between looking angrily at someone and spitting on the floor have to be for it not to be a red card? What if Joe Hart looks annoyed at Reina and then spits, should he get a red too?

It's only 1-0 at halftime. People are acting like ManCity are getting a beating.

Not a broken foot, Platt said he had an ankle knock before the game.

Hmm. We started well, dominated, had all the chances, scored. Since the goal we've been on the back foot, although City haven't really had any clear cut chances. A draw is likely imo and a draw would be a good result for us too. Spearing going off has made a big difference and has let City into the game.
Carroll has been fucking useless.

You would have a hard time proving that someone is spitting at someone else 100 yards away when there are 20 players in between them. What do you think Balotelli's intent was with that spit? Was he just spitting normally or was that a reaction to the referee's decision?
