I can understand Gerrard's frustration. He's trying his best to do something and everyone else is just being well... excuse the expression... shit.

A bit worrying considering he's only played for what 30 minutes?

That's exactly the problem with Gerrard at Liverpool. Tonight, sure, everyone else has been shite even before he came on, but with them and with England generally, he always tries to do everything himself. He is the most egotistical and selfish player I have ever seen, how else could he score so many long range goals? Because he's too selfish to pass, or because he doesn't have any faith in his teammates to do anything with the ball if he does pass it to them. That's why Liverpool have never and will never won the League with him in the side, and why England have never and will never win anything at all with him, while he picks up a shitload of personal accolades.

What the hell are you talking about? Torres was made into a super hero by Gerrard. Gerrard is, as far as I am concerned, the only reason Liverpool have managed to hang on to the top four for as long as they have.

won the champions league once, made it to the final twice, the reason he is selfish is because most of the time he needs to be the spark to get Liverpool going as some of the other players he's played with over the years simply weren't all that great.

That's the narrative, that Gerrard is a sort of God, but that's not how I see it. He is a very very greedy player who always tries to do everything himself, it's not immediately obvious because he's such a God there for when his greedy occasionally pays off (eg. Istabul, the game against West Ham) but I try not to let that cloud my view. You look at the players who have surrounded him when he's been at Liverpool, the likes of Torres, Alonso, Mascherano, Daniel Murphy, Michael Owen, Robert Fowler, Sami Hyypia, these are not bad players, and they've proved it when they're away from Gerrard. Watch him for England and it's more obvious, when there are even better players around him.
