if we sign players and the ones we have dont get injured.. then what? wasted players/money

Injury proneness is a fact, it's an attribute of a player, and its an attribute that Cleverley and Anderson have. Of course it's not guaranteed to happen, but the likelihood is that it will, and failure to prepare for that likelihood is preparing to fail.

I don't advocate signing someone every time a player gets injured, I advocate preparedness for the absence and inconsistency of notoriously injury prone or inconsistent players. It's not 'All luck', it's very predictable that certain players will get injured.

If we don't sign players and the ones we do have get injured...then what? Jones-Giggs-Park Central Midfield, Manchester City champions of England, Manchester United winning fuck all. It's a lot more fucking likely than your scenario.

    Cleverley injury prone? Neutral

Only reason he got injured this time because he was rushed back, when it heals fully I doubt he will get injured unless he receives another bad tackle.

exactly, its not like these injuries are non-contact. there is little cleverley can do if he gets tackled badly :?

if he is like hargreaves where he got injured constantly in training and while running ( Neutral ) then he would be injury prone and then you may look to have a high value back up. but 80% of cleverley's injuries have been contact injuries which has nothing to do with his "injury proneness"

Most injuries are not from contact.

The only reason he ran that fast is because Berbatov was urging him on from the bench.

Agreed, without Berbatov in the squad Rooney would of not had the motivation that was installed into him by Dimitar Berbatov. Smile

That is quite simply a fantastic return for a player who has recieved minimal game time and has been completely mis-treated and had no motivation from management. When you compare Dimitar Berbatov like for like with other strikers in the same situation as him his record is simply one of a kind and unmatched by anybody in world football.

Torres has only 3 goals this year, Carroll has only 4. Chamakh I believe doesn't have any. That is more than double the goals of all strikers in a similar situation to him, and just shows his level ability compared to all the rest. He is a self-motivated character who is quite simply incredible. Put Rooney, Drogba, Suarez or, as we have already seen, with Tevez, then they will score you only 1 or 2 goals in a calender year and hand in a transfer request. This just goes to show that in probability, Dimitar Berbatov is 4 times the player they will be Very Happy

How many goals does Luis Suarez have this year? I believe it is only 3 or 4 more than Dimitar, fantastic return.

My friend, Dimitar Berbatov grew up in one of the poorest areas in Bulgaria, to get to the level he has achieved without the financial backing and in a less econimically developed country such as Bulgaria is a task we will not see repeated. If Dimitar Berbatov grew up in Spain, a developed and country with wide resource, he would comfortably be the best player in the world.

The only reason Xavi is a good player is because he was born in Spain, give him the upbringing of Dimitar Berbatov, and he would struggle to make it out of amateur football Very Happy

1146 minutes. Not including extra time. Premier League only.

So in 2011. Berbatov played 1146 (not including extra times) Premier League minutes.

And scored 8 Premier League goals. A goal every 143 minutes.

    think

A fantastic record. If he recieved regular playing time without all the stop-start antics he recieves, you can easily expect him to reduce that to a goal every game Smile

And as a consequence he never made it at Manchester United. Clearly if he had a better upbringing he would have made it in with flying colours. It just goes to show that the Spanish players have had it easy compared to Dimitar Berbatov, and yet Berbatov is just as good, if not better than them Smile

Berbatov is like Davide Somma, fantastic conversion rate as a sub. In fact last season I believe Somma had the best goals to minutes ratio in English football by a mile.
