Er...because they are notoriously injury prone/inconsistent/unproven.

Anderson and Cleverley returning strengthens the squad, and seen as we're only 2 points behind City, it's currently good enough to win the league imo.
There's no Eric apart from the first and last lines.Sean wrote:3 ERIC CANTONA'S, 2 ERIC CANTONA'S AND AN ERIC CANTONA!

Er...because they are notoriously injury prone/inconsistent/unproven.
you dont sign players because other players in your team MAY be injury prone injury proneness is not a fact, its not something thats guaranteed to happen. if you signed someone every time a player got injured you would have a squad of 43 players. a so called "injury prone" player can easily have a season without injury, its all luck. its a contact sport
if we sign players and the ones we have dont get injured.. then what? wasted players/money

Injury proneness is a fact, it's an attribute of a player, and its an attribute that Cleverley and Anderson have. Of course it's not guaranteed to happen, but the likelihood is that it will, and failure to prepare for that likelihood is preparing to fail.
I don't advocate signing someone every time a player gets injured, I advocate preparedness for the absence and inconsistency of notoriously injury prone or inconsistent players. It's not 'All luck', it's very predictable that certain players will get injured.
If we don't sign players and the ones we do have get injured...then what? Jones-Giggs-Park Central Midfield, Manchester City champions of England, Manchester United winning fuck all. It's a lot more fucking likely than your scenario.

"You can never say never in football, of course, because fortunes can fluctuate wildly - that's the football world. If a really top-class player became available, then we would go for him, or if we picked up any further serious injuries, it might be important to add to our squad."
