Football's Greatest Managers Empty Football's Greatest Managers

Post by Guest Sun Oct 24, 2010 10:10 am

Over the past few weeks a great blogger has been doing a series of what he believes to be the top 20. He just finished no.1 today. Even with it's subjective nature, I don't think there is much that can be argued with the list in its totality. It takes into consideration every aspect of being a good manager. Certainly a good read.

    Link to the article: http://equaliserfootball.com/manager-series/

    20. Guy Roux
    19. Bela Guttmann
    18. Jack Reynolds
    17. Otto Rehhagel

    14. Carlos Bianchi
    13. Sir Matt Busby
    12. Bob Paisley
    11. Sir Alex Ferguson
    10. Bill Shankly
    9. Vittorio Pozzo
    8. Brian Clough
    7. Valeriy Lobanvovskiy
    6. Arrigo Sacchi
    5. Herbert Chapman
    4. Helenio Herrera
    3. Rinus Michels

He doesn't have to, but I think he should, maybe I'm biased because he's been more in my time of the past 13 years or so.

Modern day football is much harder to manage than 20+ years ago.

Wenger and Lippi should be there in my oppinion but a good list non the less.
