Not to take away from the Championship, but it's a big step up.
Look at Norwich, Swansea and QPR. They are all doing well and Swansea/Norwich especially are full of Championship or even League 1 players who have made the step up.
I'd say people underrate the Championship, but it's probably just you.

Has Taarabt disappointed me this season? No, he hasn’t. That’s not because I see his amongst the Premier League’s best players, but because I never rated him at the start. I laughed at the idea of him playing at a football club with the stature of Chelsea’s, which he wanted to do. His attitude is more than unwanted at any club too.
