So, you wanted to give Ferguson another season, despite not winning the Premier League for 3 seasons in a row, but now you wanted him out of the club even though we are champions of England?

It was only two seasons in a row, and he was competing with the greatest manager the world has ever seen, with a team full of world class players, and the potential for improvement was obvious, with the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo in the team, and Evra and Vidic coming into the team that January, their class was obvious to me from day one. Fletcher also looked like he might turn into a big player for us as well.
You look at our squad now, who is there there who is in that bracket? Is there any player in our squad under 25 who anyone would even countenance paying £30m+ for, like we did on Rooney in 2004? Our best players are pretty much all around their peak, and there's no-one coming through other than Smalling and Jones. There's Cleverley who looked decent against a few shambolic sides, but who else? Welbeck? He's never going to be a Rooney or Ronaldo, that's for sure.
The fact we're Champions of England shouldn't fool you, Ferguson has been taking us downhill, the only difference is that Chelsea went downhill faster than we did, thanks largely to Abramovich's megalomania.

Is it?
van der Sar
Neville Ferdinand Brown O'Shea
Ronaldo Keane Scholes Giggs
Rooney van Nistelrooy
Neville Ferdinand Brown O'Shea
Ronaldo Keane Scholes Giggs
Rooney van Nistelrooy
I'd back that against our current XI.
vDS > de Gea
Neville > Rafael
Ferdinand 2005 > Ferdinand 2011
Brown < Vidic
O'Shea > Evra
Ronaldo < Nani
Keane > Fletcher/Giggs/Andershit
Scholes > Carrick
Giggs > Young
Rooney 2005 < Rooney 2011
van Nistelrooy > Hernandez
I made that 8-3 to 2005

Half way through that season Keane quit and Scholes' eye went crazy..
O'Shea better than Evra? Piss off.

Oshea over Evra roy keane had left early in the season you nobhead, edited it for fair reflection
i make that 8-3 to 2011
also it isnt about first 11's, its about the squad too. again you are so narrow in your views, you miss the bigger picture. i have no desire to get into a discussion with you for these purposes. please piss off
also, the team that played the last match against benfica: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Silvestre, O'Shea (Richardson 87), Ronaldo (Park 67), Smith, Scholes, Giggs (Saha 60), Rooney, van Nistelrooy.
we had SMITH as our CM

Of course RR would pick O'Shea over Evra, he's an idiot like that. The guy has obsession with Liverpool and talks utter shit sometimes.

Well yeah, but I'm not judging Ferguson on injuries am I? You can't really blame him for what happened with Keane, and you certainly can't blame him for what happened with Scholes.
I can't believe you think Rafael was better than Neville in 2005 was, he was the best right back in Europe back then. And Giggs, fucking hell, you think Ashley Young is better than Giggs was 6 years ago?? Maybe on FIFA. Also, there's no fucking way Ferdinand is better now than he was then.
The claim that we had a worse team in 2005 is only even remotely valid if you take into account freak factors like players retiring in the middle of the season, or suffering severe injuries. It's horribly unfair to Ferguson to take those into account when looking at the side.

oh but now we have injuries in midfield so are forced to played the likes of jones there and you blame fergie stick to one story lad you are all over the place
Neville, fair enough. but rio, i think Rio is a far better defender now. with age he got better, only problem is his injuries. on Giggs, back then he was in transition from gradually losing his pace.

It's not the quality of the back-ups I have a problem with really, the problem I have is with the first choice players. Fletcher is a footballer who is average at best by PL standards, Giggs is nearly 40, Anderson is a fat shit, Cleverley is unproven.

Mind you, the fact we have to play 2 fucking wingers and a centre back in midfield is something Ferguson deserves criticism for. Christ on a fucking bike.

Not saying he wasn't. Picking him, or saying, he's better than Evra is beyond stupidity.

Looks like a textbook 4-3-3 to me
Young Rooney Nani
Park Jones Giggs
Evra Ferdinand Vidic Smalling
De Gea
Park Jones Giggs
Evra Ferdinand Vidic Smalling
De Gea
Although obviously the text book would have central midfielders in it.

That's most likely what we'll do, Park hardly ever plays right wing.
Unless Nani's up front again.
