26/11 Samoa v American Samoa thread

This is a huge game and I have no idea why a thread has yet to be created for this one. The situation is very simple, American Samoa must win or Samoa will be the side advancing to the 2nd round of OFC world cup qualifying. The team that advances will be put in a group with Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Tahiti.

I'm surprised that a thread hasn't been created either, this match holds great importance.

I saw the goals for the American Samoa vs Tonga (I think it was Tonga) game

The second American Samoa goal was pure class

Well what is currently going on is a 4 team mini group and whoever wins this group moves on to the next round and the rest are eliminated. The Cook Islands and Tonga are also playing but those two teams have already been eliminated.

American Samoa played the Cook Islands and drew 1-1

Well, Samoa are the better team on paper but American Samoa do posess arguably the best goalkeeper in the Pacific Nations who is of course Nicky Salapu. I reckon he will be busy, but I can see Samoa winning.

I wonder how much American Samoa will climb in the next FIFA rankings after this?

Thanks for the link I honestly do not think that their even if a stream for this exists at all. I have not had to chance to watch any of these OFC qualifiers on my computer.

Meh. He's a typical American manager. empty bucket 4-4-2, reliance on counter and set pieces to score. I suppose it will help against the teams they play mostly.

They would have advanced at 0-0 and American Samoa did not have any really good scoring chances all game long.

No clue about that but I do imagine that the American Samoans probably have more money than the people from Samoa.

If imperialism has taught us anything is that there are few benefits for the recieving end.

At least American Samoans can come and go as they please from the US and American Samoa, if they can afford it.

I imagine travel like that is very expensive and I doubt anyone would do that. More reasonable would to travel to Guam and possibly the Northern Mariana Islands as they are also US territories and in the Pacific.
