I think the Balotelli one was quite harsh.

Come on, he leaned in with his arm without even going for the ball. Arguably could have been a straight red.

Balotelli never caught him with the elbow, but it was a stupid thing to do when he was on a yellow card and it gave the ref a decision to make.

If anything it could have been for persistent fouling after being booked.

A thoroughly enjoyable match, City dominated from start until Balotelli got a red card, while Liverpool struggled to force the game upon City on their own ground. They can count themselves very fortunate to have got a point from this game, and I am very thankful that they did.
You could see the huge gulf in class between the two teams and the only time I felt Liverpool threatened was after a Suarez dive to gain advantage.
I am wondering how much of an advantage Liverpool are going to gain from these referees, another red card against the opposition, statistics of red cards for and against Livepool in the past 4 seasons would be extremely interesting to see

You have changed your mind from the first day of the season, when Sunderland should have had a red card so make your bloody mind up. That's it anything against Liverpool you go for it, go fuck yourself you tit.
There is no inconsistency in thinking one decision is a red card and an entirely different incident isn't a red card. I judge incidents on the facts, I do not have any agenda.

True, but in our game the referee sent off one of our players for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity by fouling an opponent. In your game, Manchester City scored a goal for you, the referee allowed one of your players to stay on after denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, and he sent one of your opponents off for a fairly innocuous coming together. There was a retarded lad sat next to me in the pub, I think he had Stephen Hawking's disease, and even he wouldn't have gone down under that tackle.

RR, I am under the impression that you are implying that Martin Skrtel of Slovakia is somewhat "soft." This brings me to the conclusion that you would be willing to confront him with such accusations, man to man, face to face. Is this true?

We drew 1-1 with you as did City, this obviously means we will finish joint on points a the end of the season, well as far as I'm concerned anyway.Scott wrote:LiamB_14 wrote:A thoroughly enjoyable match, City dominated from start until Balotelli got a red card, while Liverpool struggled to force the game upon City on their own ground. You are mistaken, I am implying that he feigned injury to get Mario Balotelli - a black gentleman - sent off. There is no doubt in my mind that if Skrtel had wished to stay on his feet, he could have done so.

Balotelli deserved to go. A yellow card was definitely warranted in both instances.

Don't give me all of that. People here are arguing over it and saying that he shouldn't have gone.VivaRonaldo wrote:cheesy wrote:Balotelli deserved to go. A yellow card was definitely warranted in both instances.

And people say we always have the ref on our side
They were all the wrong decisions. Scousers have been bitching about Howard etc helping out UTD but aren't man enough to admit Atkinson has assisted them in 3 big games this season.

Frimpong's red wasn't warranted? Balotelli's wasn't?grenade187 wrote:moscowmadeit3 wrote:Martin Atkinson has refereed #LFC 3 times this season, against #MCFC, #EFC & #AFC, and sent off a player for the opposing team each time.

So you think you saying 'It was a red card' will clear it up? You have a very high opinion of yourself.cheesy wrote:Don't give me all of that. People here are arguing over it and saying that he shouldn't have gone.VivaRonaldo wrote:

Yeah. perhaps a goal was scored for us by a City player (you had Mr OG as your 2nd top scorer a couple seasons back iirc and have had your fair share of lucky goals this season) but at least we weren't outplayed. At least we weren't retarded enough to concede 6 goals, and we actually looked like the better side throughout the match as a whole. Have you seen the BBC Stats?
Possession - Liverpool 58% Man City 44%
Shots - Liverpool 17 Man City 7
On Target - Liverpool 9 Man City 3
You can go on all you like about our goal being lucky (even though their goal was equally as lucky), or Reina's so called deliberate handball (which wasn't deliberate at all, the ball ricocheted off Aguero, Reina had no chance), but at the end of the day, we put in a much, much better shift than you did. We could actually have won the game, whereas you were struggling to keep your scoreline respectable.
We kept Aguero, Nasri and Silva relatively quiet all match and put in arguably the best performance against them in the League this season.

Yes they were arguing because they thought it did/didnt deserve to be a red.. you saying that isnt going to change their opinion at all.

TBF to United, the score was going to be 3-1 until that last 6 minutes IIRC.

I was not aware that the game ended 6 minutes before the final whistle.

The 1-6 game, the scoreline wasn't a fair reflection. We went at them when we only had 10 men and got punished for that, brutally, Liverpool were never in that position thanks to benefits from the referee. Individual scorelines mean fuck all anyway, the fact that you drew 1-1 with Manchesters United and City while City skullfucked us demonstrates that quite clearly.

We were the better team against you and City though. Top quality goalkeeping near the end of both games saved you and City a point.

Is 'Benefits' the new catchphrase or something? like 'fact'

You drew against our Carling Cup side thanks to a benefit goal (a free kick won by a dive and converted due to Suarez distracting the keeper from an offside position), and were prevented from stealing a win thanks to excellent saves from our goalkeeper. You drew against City's full strength side with an extra player, after they scored for you, and Reina was allowed to control the ball with his arms outside of the area. You had more possession as well.
Well done, I'm sure this is just like when Dalglish was there first time round.
