I read somewhere that we had a deadline day bid rejected for Sordell, like Rodriguez.

I heard that Cardiff bid for him, but Sordell publicly stated that he doesn't want to leave.

SISU (the owners) not giving any money to the managers, offering players shit contracts with no chance of them signing. And most importantly, not selling up to any potential buyers when they've had a bid in.

Peter Reid (Coventry manager in 2004): 'So, I agreed to sell Davenport on the proviso that I had the money to reinvest. So, on that basis, I started looking about.
'I brought Stern John in and had Stephen Hunt over on trial from Ireland.
'What's more, Niall Quinn had tipped me off about Kevin Doyle. I was certain that if I could have got to the lad, I'd have signed him as well.
'I needed someone at the back to fill the gap left by Davenport and I'd lined up Malky Mackay who I felt would do a good job for us.
'What happened? We couldn't afford Hunt's £1,500-a-week wages. When I saw what was going on, I didn't follow up my interest in Doyle. Mackay went to West Ham.
'I asked the chairman: (Mike McGinnity) "Where's the money gone?"
'He looked at me and said: "Sorry Peter, the bank's taken it."

I'd hate to be a Coventry fan in your empty ground. Darlington are also going bust as well it hasn't gone right for them since they moved in to that 25k stadium.

Yeah but it's made them pretty much fucked. If they didn't move to the new ground then they would be a couple of divisions higher probably.CoVkId01 wrote:Burytilidie wrote:I'd hate to be a Coventry fan in your empty ground. I think the owner made millions from crime or something.

Can't wait til boxing day Monday, football down the Broadfield. On a side note, I would never have imagined Crawley being top of League 2 and Tottenham 3rd in the Premier League on Christmas day.

Re: npower Football League 2011/2012
I would have been satisfied with consolidation this year, but hey, I ain't complaining.
Apparently Cortese hinted at a signing that will blow people's minds. People have been saying Defoe, but I can't see it.

I doubt it will be Defoe. If you get promoted he may join you then, but I just can't see Defoe playing in the Championship.Jordi wrote:

Gillingham - Stoke is sold out now I think. Was looking into it but I haven't put a single penny into Gillingham this season so I don't see why I should just because it's Stoke. They hardly play football either, will probably be a normal League 2 game just with better players. Hoooooooof.
Would have considered going if there was any chance of Crouch playing though, would have loved to abuse the lanky FREEEAAAAKKKKK.

Best post made on this thread mate .
What's everyone's plans for Christmas and new years eve?
For me, xmas at home with my parents and two brothers with plenty of beer and food to chill out on, and then on boxing day we've got a great game in Shrewsbury to look forward to. For new year it will be lots of beer with mates, and I haven't really planned what will happen after that .
Have a great christmas guys.

Hey up Ced, hows tricks? For me, Christmas is at the aunt's as usual but this year I'm off for a pint with my brother, Grandad, Dad and uncle so that'll be quality!
NYE is Barnsley away, get absolutely goosed and then a lad who is coming with us to the game is having a party. By then though I hope to be well gone.

Carlisle's away following to us will be decent too, 4k, when they only average that on home games

What did we bring to you? Sure we almost filled the Bill Shankly kop on a Tuesday night, it sold out on our site anyway.
