How long before people expect England to win the Euros/World cup?

Why undeserved?
Despite all their possession they didn't have many clear cut chances all game. We were better defensively (quite obviously pointed out by the scoreline).....
We did what we had to do, you can't expect us to push forward against Spain when we're winning.
Won't say "England to win Euro 2012"...but we won fair and square tonight and deserved it on the defensive performance....which is as important if not more important than how much of the ball you have.
Agree actually, obviously people shouldnt get carried away but its a bit unfair to try and take anything away from England.

Spain would have had two sweaty goal opportunities had the linesman not falsely called Silva offside on both occasions.

Not a dominating performance, but a defensive one which sometimes you need against certain sides. That's the old English spirit we needed to bring back! Parker winning MOTM well deserved, he is who we need in the middle defensively and I don't think you can say he is overrated anymore.

Great result.
Parker played really well, although he still can't pass more than 5 yards in front of him sometimes.
England's 9-0-1 formation really paid off in the second half.

True, though he did take one and Hart saved it anyway.
Wouldn't say the officials went either way though, there were some dodgy decisions against England too.....none in goal scoring positions though I guess.

Simple 5 yard passes are as important as the other ones. He plays it to the playmaker or someone in space near him and the attack goes from there.JMB_94 wrote:Great result.

Re: England vs Spain | 17:15
I thought Parker did really well (though he can improve his forward passing.....) but the MOTM was Lescott. Really improved this season, and he was amazing tonight.
When Spain scrape a result it's because they're amazing and/or weren't trying hard

Re: England vs Spain | 17:15
Need to improve on passing going forward. Players like Welbeck, Johnson, Rodwell, Jones and Parker were killing off attacks by rushing passes when they had time or better options. Should be better with Rooney and Wilshere in the team though.
Also have to say, Milner is highly underrated. Very solid performance...he is good at defending and going forward...you can trust him to keep hold of the ball too.

Yeah he's quality at breaking up play, useless at passing.

How did we win
Very lucky win, Spain were just in second gear all night not putting a foot in, shows how little they cared
Also Scott don't talk about players you have never seen play before. Jordi Alba is exceptional.

I have seen him plenty for Valencia and still think Enrique would be a more solid option.

Alba was solid in that game. Walcott and Johnson couldn't get past him.
