[FM 2012] Ahlycotc's Save (FC Barcelona)

So I'm thinking of keeping this save. Instead of leaving Barca, I'll start another fresh save with a more challenging team. I want to try out a club in England. Give me suggestions.

United is not a challenge in this game. They won the last two seasons with several matches left in the season.

Henrique and Mino are refusing to renew their contracts. So it looks like they will be gone in a week. I'll need to buy a good central defender and a keeper.

I have been given a wage budget of £119M and a transfer budget of £122M.

Bojan is back from his loan at Roma. Roma made a bid of £625,000 for a full transfer. I laughed at their faces and then told them they can have him for £15M. He is valued at £13.5M.

Barcelona sign young goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, from Gladbach for £20M. A contract offer has been reached between the two sides.

Manchester United accept Barca's £30M (potentially £35M) offer for young defender, Phil Jones. Both clubs could not agree on a contract offer though. I offered him a First Team contract. The max salary I can give him is £3.2M/year. I locked the salary at that and he is asking for ridiculous incentives.

Buy Thiago Silva. I got him on FM11 for £40m.

Thiago Silva is 28 years old though.

I tried again and Phil Jones accepted a £4.5M salary offer. I had to make him a key player.

France kicks ass in this game. They won Euro 2012 and 2013 Confederations Cup. They are now ranked 1st in the world rankings. It also seems like the most promising players are French.

I think I have my signings for the season now. I still have like £80M left in my transfer budget. Here is my squad for the 2013/14 season...

Barcelona win the UEFA Super Cup...

Barca began their La Liga campaign with highs and lows. After starting off well, especially with a 6-0 victory over Real Betis, Barca dropped their first points against Athletic Club and a rather lucky Villarreal side. The Barca faithful were really devastated after losing 2-0 to Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the season at the Bernabeu. Barca managed to end the month of September with more embarrassment by drawing 2-2 with Granada and lay in 9th place in the league, 8 points behind league leaders, Real Madrid.

In the Champions League, Barca started off well with a 4-0 victory over Zenit. The other teams in the group are AZ and Zurich.

Wenger resigned from Arsenal.

Barca continued their 100% record in the Champions League to edge closer to the next round. They also started their Copa del Rey campaign with a 5-1 victory over Zamora in the first leg.

In the league, Barca went back to winning ways, but only after dropping some points in the first match of the new month against Osasuna. Barca now are in 7th place in La Liga after 9 matches and 7 points behind league leaders, Real Madrid.
