So I open it, and it just opens Steam.

If you are positive the crack is not working, go on the pirate bay and type in football manager 2012 and look for a crack with positive comments underneath to download.

Use the SKIDROW one.
All you have to do is copy the files into your install folder and overwrite the files already in there with the same name.
