Ahly = Can't agree on religion...but nothing like RR. From what I have seen you do show a certain ability to take the bait rather than defuse the situation (like this conversation with James. As a mod you can't really let trolls get to you...and you definitely can't get bogged down in slag matches.) Also I'd say that you show some regret for me, though I don't really know why. Maybe I don't come on enough but that's how I would perceive it anyway.
But anyway...I don't claim to be any better than the above...it's just my personal view..even if it's ironic/hypocritical or whatever.

So Mal forced people to vote for ahly and robyn? I didn't know his powers went that far. IIRC there were a significant number of alternatives during the two rounds of voting.
Putting everyone up for consideration is unrealistic and ineffective.

No, he put a bunch of idiots (except Dan who rejected it anyway) up and then 2 lesser idiots (Robyn and Ahly) knowing people would vote for them because they where best of a bad bunch. If we are doing democracy then it should be an open poll and people vote for whoever they wish and votes are just counted at the end.
Wont happen though because Mal doesn't care about peoples opinions, he just wants puppets like yourself.
