Rome Total War. Hopefully the second will surpass this, but very tough.
Elder Scrolls Skyrim. That was incredibly difficult, but the lack of Oblivion gates makes this one better.

What makes you feel 3 won't be good? In my opinion Assassins Creed 2 should be there on it's own as the first was incredibly tedious and repetitive while the others were carbon copies of 2.

I initially put AC2, but tbh, I thought the first game was a flawed gem.

AC3 will bug me to hell because of the overt American patriotism. As a result I won't enjoy the game as much, although I'll definitely buy it.

You should try Witcher 2, it deserves more attention than it gets. Best high fantasy 3rd person RPG out there. Or even try the books, that's what I'm about to do.

I think the setting for the new one is a refreshing change and that has a lot to do with while I'll buy it.

Yes, I looked at some of the gameplay. I'm not getting it yet, because it doesn't look polished enough if you know what I mean.

Far Cry 3 looks promising, September release, right? That said, there aren't any other big RPGs on the horizon. Well, along with Watchdogs.

Yeah Far Cry 3 looks very promising, glad they've gone back to the tropical Island setting to. Borderlands 2 is sort of an RPG but it's a lot more FPS based. Looks very good mind.
