It's a great idea, we'd see far better football in the Premier League if it was implemented. No-one has thought about the positives of this, everyone is too wrapped up in conservatism.

No it wouldn't, not at all. They would be competing to win the Football League, teams did that for over 100 years with no promotion for winning it.

The real motivation in the FL in gaining to promotion to the Premier League. You're basically suggesting that we should seperate the Premier League from the rest of the English football league structure?

Yeah, it is now, because the winners get promoted to the Premier League, but they didn't before 1992, they just won the League and then started over the next season.

Do you honestly believe that if there was no promotion that teams would just stop trying to win their games?

Obviously not, you'd just be taking a great deal of competition out of the FL, and at the bottom end of the EPL.

The bottom end of the Premier League would be so much better without relegation. There would actually be an incentive to play good football rather than shit football which gets results, because entertaining matches would be a far bigger factor in a club's revenue than actual results.

As for the top of the Football League, why on Earth would competition be taken out of it? Would teams suddenly not want to win trophies any more? I don't understand why you think this. Is the top of the Premier League uncompetitive because there's no promotion there?

EA have plans for FIFA 13. As I'm a data reviewer, I'm receiving loads of emails for the new person in charge of the database. He's asking for contract lengths, wages, birth cities, players workrate, and they're asking reviewers to double check all heights and weights.
