Obviously not, you'd just be taking a great deal of competition out of the FL, and at the bottom end of the EPL.
The bottom end of the Premier League would be so much better without relegation. There would actually be an incentive to play good football rather than shit football which gets results, because entertaining matches would be a far bigger factor in a club's revenue than actual results.
As for the top of the Football League, why on Earth would competition be taken out of it? Would teams suddenly not want to win trophies any more? I don't understand why you think this. Is the top of the Premier League uncompetitive because there's no promotion there?
Winning the Premier League means you're crowned as the 'champions' of English football, plus UEFA Champions League football the following season. Winning the Npower Championship means nothing in comparison, it would just be winning the second best league in England. Also the fact that even runners-up won't get rewarded at the end of the season.
I agree with teams maybe trying to play decent football instead of just grinding out results to stay up, like Stoke for example. That's a fair point.

4th place gets a shot UEFA Champions League Football the following season as well, that's irrelevant. Winning the Football League means something, and it would mean a lot more if it was the highest honour a club could achieve. What you are saying is like saying that winning the FA Cup or the League Cup doesn't mean anything if you are in the top 7, because you don't qualifying for anything the next season, it's bollocks.
If you win the Football League you get a trophy, you are Champions of the oldest League competition in the world.

Yeah winning a trophy is great, but i still think promotion to the top flight is more motivating than winning the Football League then staying in that division as the defending champions.
You do qualify for a European competition if you win the CC or FA Cup, btw.
