He has a pierced ear, he's brought any sort of grief he gets upon himself.
That's fine, it's harsh that the lad is having so much trouble in his life.

He's not the only kid to have his parents split up, in fact it's incredibly common nowadays. Not all of them feel the need to act like complete twats.

Some people are affected worse than others..
Have your parents split?

Exactly, so why is it so much trouble for him but not much trouble for others? He's just a brat.
and no, but I know plenty of people whose parents have split. They're very well-adjusted people.

Thing is though you didn't know what it was like to have a Dad who would take you to football, support you, be excited to spend time with you, for then it to disappear, surely you understand what I'm getting at.

I've seen my dad approximately 40 weekends, used to see him a weekend every couple of months and sometimes not even that due to him work in America a lot. This is from the age of 10 till the age of 18. Before the age of 10, I rarely saw him. I think that is more traumatic for a kid, having his dad go in and out of his life that much. I used to cry my eyes out when he had to go and it is so bad my only 2 proper childhood memories of him are 1) when he turned up on his motorbike at my school which was pretty awesome and 2) when he had a massive go at me and my brother then proceeded to tell us what an awesome person he is and how he gets all the chicks.
