agree with the getting in the way, Basel were playing with 12 men sometimesSuperManUtd wrote:Ref was terrible, about 2 fouls basel got away with at the end.
3 penaltys not given for us.
There penalty was very very soft.
got in the way atleast 3 times.
3 penaltys though?
If the peno would have been soft why did nobody, most importantly Valencia, protest?
Ref's positioning was beyond awful but the reffing was alright.

Is Berbatov faultless in your eyes? Even if the ball was on the line, no movement on it, no pressure on Berbatov, and he missed, what would your excuse be?LiamB_14 wrote:Good performance, I feared the worst when Berbatov didn't start, because nobody would hold the ball up and link up play, and so it proved.
Thankful he came on to squander a point, but I think Ferguson will be regretful in thinking he didn't need Berbatov to start tonight.

Tbh, all Berbatov did was a half decent control when he was offside, and smash the ball into the side netting.

My friends, please consider the inexperience of a number of players in this competition such as De Gea, Jones, Young and Welbeck. They will have learnt much from tonight, and as I said, the baffling decision was to leave out Berbatov tonight. With him I would assume a 3 goal winning margin. Welbeck isn't ready to lead the line on his own.

2 more than Berbatov would have done.
Half as many as Berbatov has scored in Europe for us.

There were atleast 2 pens for united, When the basel player pushed young over from the back and the hand ball from giggs' freekick.

And that was the wrong decision if he was good he would of cut it across the goal for nani.

My friend, do not blame the fallen apart team by this stage on Berbatov.
Had Berbatov started, the team would have kept possession much better and cruised to victory in the second half.

You really are stupid aren't you ? those players you named where probably our best players.
So if welbeck isn't ready to lead the line on his own, that doesn't say much for Berbatov, your basicly saying berbatov isn't ready to make a first team appearence for united ?

They got a whole lot more than 1000.
(My post in the other thread) We were awful at defending tonight, which is a first. Was more down to our wing backs, just didn't defend, out of position which cost us the second goal and which gave away the penalty. It was a huge disappointment as defensively we are usually miles better.
Attack was good first half, even though we did look poor. Welbeck took his chances well but those 2 goals will be overshadowed by our shit performance, sadly for him. Second half, we just didn't get going at all, sloppy football, didn't look interested and created very little until the end, when we scored.
Park, in my opinion, was a waste of a sub, over hitting passes and unsuccessful passes. Maybe I'm being harsh on him as most of the other players weren't great.
Youngs finish for the goal was good, great cross from Nani.
I usually hate blaming the referee but we should have had a penalty for that handball, which was quite blatant. The amount of times he got in the way as well
Overall, poor performance and I'm hoping the bollocking Fergie gives them makes them play a whole lot better at the weekend. At least we didn't lose at the end, would have been worse than already

One of the worst defensive displays by us I've ever seen, embarrassing, we were shite and lucky to get a draw, thank fuck for Nani's crossing, Welbeck probably should have won it for us at the end from another Nani cross.
I think I've fractured my finger from being so furious with Berbatov.
The guy that said Rio is past it, hopefully you die.

forgot about the hands, that should have been given but Young's wasn't a peno, he kept on playing and then just stared at the ref.SuperManUtd wrote:Danny wrote:You really should shut up.

Btw, if that Basel defender's clearance from his own half would have gone in
De Gea was worried and the Swiss commentator was screaming around with a high-pitched voice, sounded gay as hell

Recently? He's only played twice since returning from an injury.
He's still one of the best defenders in the world. And has been fairly consistently for the past 8 or 9 years.

what a peno by Frei for the 2-3
pity he would have missed it in the NT, still wouldn't want him back though.
Frei just called Berbatov a glorious footballer

I think that is enough evidence to tell everyone what a phenomenally respected footballer Berbatov is around the globe.
He is man marked every time in the box. defenders dare not let a Berbatov free like they did to Ashley Young at the end of the match
