    I never realized how extensive soccernet's coverage of Argentine football is. If you hunt things down you can find information all the way down to the 4th division. Anyways time to get back to the point of the thread and inform everyone how River Plate is doing;

    yesterday River Plate 2-0 Gimnasia La Plata

    4-3-0 12 goals for 5 goals against 1st place

    Yes they are. I probably should have said they are the team from Argentina and not the team from Uruguay. This is big since this is the FIRST TIME EVER that River Plate has been relegated in their 110 year history.

    It has been forever since I have updated this thread and it appears River Plate is slipping up a bit. The 2nd division in Argentina follows a traditional 38 game season which is much different than the top division.

    9-6-3 2nd 32 goals for 15 goals against

    So the season is almost half over and thankfully for River Plate 2nd place still gets direct promotion.

    I heard it will take two seasons for them to get promoted, is this true?

    The Argentine Primera is broke into two seperate 19 game seasons this is true. Although these two seaons take the same amount of time as one traditional 38 game tournaments.
