Rooney played very poorly, his passing and touch let him down on numerous occassions, something that a Dimitar Berbatov would have fixed.

My friend I believe it's simply a case of Fergie motivating Dimitar.

Agreed, AF was stupid not to play Berbatov, he's losing his marbles.LiamB_14 wrote:Rooney played very poorly, his passing and touch let him down on numerous occassions, something that a Dimitar Berbatov would have fixed.

Dimitar would have been more suited to the lone striker role we went for in the first half, it puzzles me how he didnt play

Fergie has also said De Gea will start Sunday.

Rooney didn't have much help, don't think he was that bad although Luisao did have him in his back pocket whenever he attacked.

Lindegaard should do more interviews.

Berbatov can't play upfront on his own, it's a disaster! Especially in a CL game as well, where he isn't the greatest player.

This is the most probable situation. Berbatov is a hard-working, dedicated and fantastic proffessional, his eagerness to succeed is second to none. I think Ferguson realises that Berbatov is a special case, and hence why he is indeed providing Dimitar Berbatov with special treatment compared with everyone else.
As Ferguson has said, Berbatov's time will come

My friend, that is incorrect considering that factual evidence suggests that Dimitar Berbatov is the Manchester United striker that gets the most playing time as a lone striker.
Clearly Ferguson believes he is the best United striker to lead the team on an individual basis

Berbatov never plays as the only striker in a United shirt, fuck off.

Shalke at home - CL semi final Manchester City - FA Cup semi-final
Fulham at home - Premier League, Valencia away - CL droup stage are 4 prime examples that spring to the top of my head

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
The performance overall was pretty poor, didn't move the ball well enough and Rooney had to keep coming deep to get involved, no service to him but I'm happy with a point considering the team we started, that'll do.

The City and Valencia ones didn't exactly go too well either. (With Berbatov on at least)

When we scored 3 goals at Everton he was our only striker.

Yes I was going to mention that, I believe O'Shea played in defensive midfield.ResurrectionRooney wrote:When we scored 3 goals at Everton he was our only striker.

He was heroic, unfortunately by the end of the game he was moved to left back, and we immediately conceded two goals, one each from both of Everton's attacking midfielders.

Not surprising, no doubt O'Shea would have tracked both and put out the fire like the champion he is.

Poor performance overall tbf.. Lindegaard, Carrick and Giggs (when Fletch went off) were the standouts. Fletch and Rooney were both poor. Evra wasnt bad going forward, but left gaps behind. Evans and Smalling were ok, although Cordozo turned Evans fairly easily for their goal.

Very harsh on Rooney, it's hard to say someone played shit when they have no support and have to come out of position to get the ball, very difficult to do anything in Rooney's position tonight.VivaRonaldo wrote:Kuled wrote:Missed the majority of the game since something bad came up. I thought Pat was good, two games in a row.

Yea he was short on service, but his touch let him down a couple of times, and his lay-offs got intercepted. He did look better when Hernandez came on though.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
From what I saw our midfield was absolute wank. I cringed every time Carrick or Fletcher had the ball because I knew they would fuck up. I heard the defence did will in the second half especially Jonny Evans and Smalling. Thoughts?
