From the ref's view, I can't see how he could have assumed that quickly that it was a dive. From his view it looked like a pen to me, but obviously from the TV angle you could see it was a bit of a dive.

Even still, I would have given it as the defender was stupid enough to leave his leg out.

Furthermore, the ball actually bounces off his leg due to the attacker's heavy touch, not because it was a good tackle.

That is a clear penalty. Left his leg out and Swanson couldn't stop his run.

I thought it was a penalty. It doesn't look as though contact is made with the ball before Swanson is brought down.
