Yes! Took me quite a bit to figure it out. I was a bit unsure at first that the distance between the lines at the side of the coin were the same.

I do have some euros and cents in my room but alas, they are not very similar to any UK coins.

I have a 5 cents coin lying around in my room from last year.

here's a question, if you took out the middle of a £2 coin, could a £1 coin fit in the hole?

Indeed. It's worth mentioning that the €1 coin has the same colour scheme to the £2 coin though.
