Tbh, RR and LFCPete are getting caught up on the belief that God is a God that willpubish everyone who doesn't believe in his religion, when a lot of other Christians don't believe that at all.

It's not a blessing if it can cause me to suffer for eternity. If God's not on human standards then why do you Christians say he is good? He does what he wants.

It still doesn't excuse it... It made his own morality, one in which all it does is venerated and considered good... that's a very asshole thing to do.

It's not a decision, it's a guess. I base my guess on the facts available to me, I can't believe that God would bless me with logic and reason intending that I don't use them, or that if I did use them, I would suffer for eternity. I also can't believe that a good being would sentence me to eternal torture for failing to believe in something, it just seems absurd.
