Scottish Cup enters record books
Monday, 04 July 2011
The Scottish Cup has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as a record breaker in two different categories.
The trophy has today been confirmed as the oldest trophy in Association football and the oldest national football trophy in the world.
The original trophy is owned by the Scottish FA but resides 365 days of the year in the Scottish Football Museum. It is carefully brought out of the Museum on cup final day and presented to the winning team before being returned to the Museum.
