I'm sadly not really counting him anymore, him and King just don't think they'll ever be fit enough to play properly again

I think we do, he's been with us for what 3 years? and is still making crucial mistakes that are costing us in matches. I'd take Given, but we need a young goalkeeper for the long term IMO. Any young keepers with potential around that we could sign?

Hmmm Gomes is decent he makes mistakes though. I want a new keeper but there's other areas that need addressing first (striker)

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I swear not many people mention the problem at left back and how lucky we've been that Beniot Assou-Ekotto has been injury free this year, as without him we don't have any cover other than Bale who is obviously more often than not going to start on the wing. We need a young keeper, left back, a right winger and one or two top quality strikers in the summer.

I'd take any of those players coming in and whoops, I forget to mention at least 1 more CB as I doubt either King or Woody will be playing next year. I think it's about time we had luck with injuries next year, we always have injury problems.XxBradKennedyxX wrote:in -

Why do we need a right winger? Lennon is good. We need better strikers and we'd be a top class squad..Crouch/Pav/Defoe shouldn't be our main scoring threat.

I wouldn't get rid of Dos Santos he is young, if we actually played him he has alot of potential.
Also can't see us getting rid of our 4 main strikers all in one summer haha, I like Krancjar as well, wouldn't get rid of him.
Baines would be a dream signing, imo he's the best left back in the Prem.
But some of those strikers you listed are pretty ridiculous and i don't see why we need a right winger.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
We need a right winger as back up to Lennon, not necessarily to replace him. I'm just thinking because we get so many injuries to key players we need adequate cover and although we have Kranjcar, Pienaar, Dos Santos and Bentley, I don't think we have that for the right side. You could say Bentley, but I don't think he's good enough for where we should be aiming to progress to.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
dos santos and kranjcar are pretty much certain to leave arent they? and I dont quite think lennon is good enough, hes improved a lot this season but he just doesnt seem to offer enough some times, i dunno what it is but i just feel we need goals and even if we bring in a quality striker, lennon, modders and huddlestone dont quite offer them, id much rather have hulk/young out wide who guarantee goals.
I dont think we'll get rid of all of our strikers, I said pav/crouch, as in one or the other, but i think keane will be gone as long as wet spam stay up, and I think at least one of our other strikers will go.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I think we do have a deal with them but not sure. Yeah Niko and Gio are certain to leave so we'll need more back up as Pienaar won't be enough, but then will Harry give the likes of Townsend and Rose a chance next year? along with Walker? I'd be happy to see youngsters coming through. A striker MUST be the top priority this summer, it just has to be! And top class vid that was posted, loved it and summed it up beautifully!

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I think Dos Santos's agent wants him to stay.
And Lennon is good enough. Young is not a massive improvement on Lennon, if at all. Lennon plays it smart and picks out the easiest option, usually a cutback into space. If he could work on his dribbling (not very consistent is it, fumbles over his own footwork at times and other times pulls off some nice moves), he would be a very good winger that would rack up easy assists playing with a striker that comes alive in the box.

Thought Pienaar was right footed? I don't like him anyway though.

I don't want any Arsenal scum..I didn't even like Gallas all season until the Milan game.

Agree with this I wanna see some young guns. Rose scored that amazing goal against Arsenal then I don't recall ever seeing him again. Harry is a great manager but I don't understand some things he does. Agree about a striker though and I hope we keep Dos Santos, on the Mexican national team he is great I don't see why we never give him a shot.

This..Lennon is good and improving, he created our goal in Milan on his own then laid it off to a wide open Crouch, he scores important goals from time to time, I don't want him gone.

Gomes I think is a good keeper but you have to ask yourself, is it worth that extra 15m to replace him? That depends on how much you value him. Your competence with Bentley should be a lot higher as backup, otherwise Pienaar is ok as backup and he's both footed. Biggest priorities should be striker - LB?

I would tend to agree with just about everything you said Gomes isn't great but he's not bad enough that I want to waste money replacing him. Striker is a must imo. There's teams way below us in the table who have better strikers then us.

Yes but the strikers on your wish list require the champions league, money isn't an issue but there's not many realistic targets available right now

most of the strikers listed are in the Europa League or less this season. Rossi, Aguero, Forlan, LLorente, etc.

Forlan is a quick fix and hasn't done much this season
Aguero is wanted by champions league clubs, he's not coming
Rossi must favour coming back to England as it's his native language, but along with Aguero is highly rated.
Llorente, I can see him being the most effective for you lot but again he's wanted by Real and many other clubs.
If you're smart about it and Llorente isn't bought by Madrid ect, he could well come..
