Dundee enter administration Empty Dundee enter administration

Dundee Football Club have officially entered financial administration for the second time in seven years. Bryan Jackson, who successfully guided Motherwell Football Club through a similar process eight years ago, has been appointed as the administrator at Dens Park.

His firm, PKF, will formally begin work on Friday and Jackson’s first role will be to inform employees how many will be made redundant immediately. Cuts will be made to the playing and backroom staff, with an announcement on their severity to be made on Friday at 2.30pm.

“Dundee FC are now officially in administration,” a short statement from the club read. “Papers were lodged at the Court of Session in Edinburgh today [Thursday]. Bryan Jackson of PKF will now assume control of the club.

It was revealed last Friday that the club would have to go into administration, having failed to resolve a dispute with HM Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill of £365,000.

Matt Lockwood, who only joined the club in August this year, says he and his fellow players are concerned over what the future holds, with rumours of anything between 10 and 20 members of the first team squad going to be let go.

“It’s worrying times, with the things that could happen in the next 24 hours,” Lockwood said. “Lads have got mortgages to pay and bills to pay. If the money isn’t coming in then that’s harder to do.”

Shame to see another club enter admin, happens too often these days.

    Discuss.

    Aren't there like two dundee's?

I remember getting flamed by about 12 scottish kids because I mixed the two up one time.

Anyway, unfortunate as always. But to prove a point, the SPL vs Ekstraklasa debates, well, all Polish clubs in top division are financially stable. Smile

They aren't in the SPL so it doesn't really prove anything lol.

It's a shame, they went into admin about 7 years ago when they spent millions on signings like Ravenelli, Caniggia, Ketsbaia and hundreds of random South American and Italians.

Thank God it's not Dundee United. They are the first ever team I played with in Manager Mode on a FIFA series. Smile
