I have been involved in many debates when I have been positive towards a player. Defending Lucas and Glen Johnson for example.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
I am going to have to say Wilshere. Thiago is a player of mediocre abilities, a poor attitude and playing in a team of overrated, unsportsmanlike like, and unprofessional nitwits.

Thiago's best senior Barcelona appearance so far(in my opinion):
Context: Key win in the title race

Jamie can't stand people thinking Wilshere is better.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
I really like Thiago. Whenever he plays for Barca he doesn't look at all out of place, if it was the first time you watched them play you wouldn't have a clue he's not in the starting XI every week. Everything from his passing, movement, dribbling and vision seems to be done with minimum fuss, brilliant to see so much confidence and natural abillity from someone so young. Don't get me wrong, I rate Wilshere too, I think he'll be a brilliant player, he just seems a little rash at times, overall I think Thiago's game is just a bit more well rounded.

And Coatsy: A very overhyped performance.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
Well i think Wilshere is a good player and will get better. But ive not seen lots of Thiago, but for what ive seen of him forget all the bullshit i can totally understand the luv you have for him as a player, he looks as if he is absolute top class and will get even better and if he keeps improving he is going to be one of the biggest stars of now and the future. Just like the team he is playing for absloute class.Fine Shagger wrote:I think it's unfortunate that this thread will find itself weighted towards people who haven't actually seen Thiago play.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
Perhaps overhyped (he's young and english, what do you expect),still a top draw performance against Xavi/Iniesta widely regarded as the best two central midfielders in the world and the 'best team of a generation'. He's shown that over a full season he is quality, Thiago hasn't had chance to prove that fully yet. I'm not doubting Thiago because he obviously is quality aswell and hopefully he gets more playing time next season which I somehow doubt so that I can actually justify an opinion as to which of them is better.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
Haven't seen too much of Thiago.....maybe it was just that match but I prefer Wilshere. Both are good on the ball......both can pass and both are pacey.....
There's not really much between them.....except Thiago has a bit more attacking flair and capability on the wings(though Wilshere is no slouch)....and Wilshere has better defensive capability/strength.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
Wilshere has some things over Thiago and I think he's a more all rounded midfielder at the moment but Thiago has a lot more than Wilshere going forward.

Re: Wilshere or Thiago?
Thiago is a more mobile, and skillful Alonso-esque player. But he can play further up the pitch too.

I'd say Thiago is very different to Alonso, and so is Wilshere.

In all seriousness, for a change there's no liverpool related player involved. Filippo, I applaud you. Baby steps, but for you that's probably the standard.

It was comparison to how he pings balls effortlessly around the pitch.

Yeah, seems to have the dribbling of Iniesta and the passing of Xavi, needs to keep the consistency of his game up though, shouldn't be no problems for him though.kyro7 wrote:Thiago is a far superior passer imo.

His father was part of the Brazil squad in 1994. And he has a brother who is at Barca, how good is he?
