UDINESE BEAT PORTO TO SIGNING OF BRAZILIAN YOUNGSTER KLÉBER.



Udinese manager Francesco Guidolin was pleased to announce today that Udinese have completed the signing of Brazilian striker Kleber Pinheiro from Portuguese side C.S. Maritimo for a staggering sum of €7 million euros. The Italian club beat competition from Porto and Fiorentina to land the striker in Udine.

Kleber has played 38 times for Maritimo and scored 15 goals, a record Guidolin will be hoping Kleber improves on during his time in Udinese. "He's a fantastic young striker, enthusiastic and always works hard." said Guidolin.

Kleber signs on a five year contract, deal reported to cost around €1 Million per year not including bonuses and sponsorships.

UDINESE SET FOR NEW CAMPAIGN AFTER PRE-SEASON MATCHES



Francesco Guidolin and his team are ready to tackle the new 2010-2011 Serie A season after their completed their pre-season session today with a 7-0 thumping of Accrington Stanley. Antonio Di Natale scored four of Udinese's goals along with goals from Kwadwo Asamoah, German Denis and Gokhan Inler. The Bianconeris though began the pre-season in a less fashionable manner with a 3-0 loss to European powerhouse Barcelona. But regained confidence after beating Mexican side Santos Laguna 2-0 in their second pre-season game.

Udinese began the new Serie A campaign with a superb victory 6-0 over newly promoted Brescia. Guidolin fielded a typical 3-5-2 style to start off with, but was quickly changed at halftime after Udinese were in comfort zone, with a 1-0 lead. Alexis Sanchez opened his account for the season with the first goal of the game, a sweet curler from outside the box after receiving a defense-splitting pass from Pablo Armero. Kleber came on at halftime for Maurizio Domizzi who was suffering an injury and made an instant impact. Kleber scored from a tap-in after Asamoah's low cross, and Di Natale scored two more to add to the deficit. Benatia ended the the scoring with a towering header from an Alexis Sanchez corner.

GERMAN DENIS SOLE SCORER AS UDINESE COLLECTED MAXIMUM POINTS AT HOME AGAINST BOLOGNA

Udinese ran out 1-0 winners against Bologna in their opening home game for the season. Manager Guidolin made only one change to the side that started against Brescia, German Denis was introduced in the expense of experienced midifelder Giampiero Pinzi. The gamble paid off as Denis headed home the only goal of the game following a cross from Alexis Sanchez.

UDINESE STUN INTER AT THE SAN SIRO

Udinese continued their 100% record of the new Serie A season after completing a 2-1 victory over current champions Inter Milan. Goals from Antonio Di Natale and Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez proved imminent as the Biaconeri ended the month on a high and at the top of the league standings. Sanchez provided the breakthrough on the half-hour mark when he eased his way into the penalty area before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Julio Cesar. Udinese then doubled their lead two minutes into the second half when a wide open Di Natale headed home a cross from Maurizio Isla. Inter, though reduced the lead when Pazzini struck on the 75th minute but the Nerazzuri failed to find an equalizer and Guidolin and his team collected yet another three points.

LATE SHOW FOR UDINESE AT THE OLIMPICO

After a stunning 2-1 victory over Inter Milan last week, Udinese began the month of September (2010) in great style with a 4-2 comeback win over Roma. Guidolin outsmarted Montella on two ocassions during the course of the game. First with his introduction of former Italy international Giampiero Pinzi and also a switch in formation from the 4231 to a 352.

Udinese actually drew first blood on the 40th minute, Sanchez slotted him past Julio Sergio after a quick release by Di Natale. Roma responded immediately, just before half-time from a Riise long throw, Jeremy Menez equalized with a super header. Roma then took the lead on the 69th minute from a powerful Mirko Vucinic freekick. The lead wasn't to last though, in less than a minute after being brought on, Giampiero Pinzi provided a superb ball for Di Natale to volley home. 16 minutes later, Di Natale was at it again, latching onto a great knock-down by Kleber to put Udinese in the lead. German Denis then wrapped up the win for the Bianconeris when he tapped in a low cross by Sanchez.
