I can't say I have ever watched Coentrão play at right-back but I am pretty sure if Mourinho wanted a right-back he would of actually bought a right-back.

Not many right-backs out there that would be available that are better than Ramos either. Would be madness playing Coentrão on the right.

He hasn't, not in an official match anyway.

Pretty sure Mourinho, Pepe and Coentrao all have the same agents so I'm sure that played a part in it. Also Mourinho has wanted Coentrao for a while now and if anyone can get him to play RB it would be him.

I'm just going off a few reports and logic btw, not saying it's 100% the case. I mean, Carvalho is getting old so it would make sense for Ramos to take over CB while Coentrao and Marcelo blitz it Barca style.

Also, neither Marcelo and Centrao are that great on the wings (Not as good as full back) so they won't be replacing Di Maria anytime soon.

Mourinho must see something in his ability to be able to play him at right-back, cannot see it myself. Ramos for the most part is fantastic apart from the odd time he goes out with the "I'm going to get sent off" attitude.

Arbeloa also stepped in most of the time for Ramos last season and also did well.

Such a weird transfer, if Ramos moves in what about Pepe?

If this isn't a bitchslap to Marcelo's face, I don't know what it is. Real Madrid is becoming Jorge Mendez Inc.

Still, Pepe makes a better DM than their actual DM's anyway so could easily fill in there as well. Can even play full back as well, so games for him should not be a problem.

I disagree with those. Karim isn't better than Gonzalo. Raul Albiol for Carvalho - never liked him. The rest I agree with. Coentrão isn't that far behind Marcelo for me personally.

I think Coentrao would link well with Ronaldo through playing with Portugal, and Di Maria through playing with Benfica, but meh, only Jose knows who'll start for sure.
