Owen Hargreaves has posted 18 video clips on YouTube as he bids to find a new club.
The 30-year-old midfielder - released by Manchester United this summer - has released the videos which show him working out in a gym and on the training pitch to prove his fitness.
It comes two years after another injury-prone former England star, Michael Owen, earned himself a move to United by releasing a 32-page dossier to put himself in the shop window.
Signed for £17million in 2007, Hargreaves spent four injury-plagued years at Old Trafford after impressing at the 2006 World Cup.
It had even been feared that his playing career was at an end after tendonitis in his knees blighted the Canadian-born midfielder’s time at United.
He now maintains, however, that he is fit again and is hopeful that a club will now take a chance on him.
His YouTube clips, captioned Owen Hargreaves Comeback, had attracted a total of around 10,000 views by last night and attracted a string of positive comments from well-wishers.
One clip showed Hargreaves going through his paces on a treadmill.
Another 23-second piece of footage showed the former World Cup star working his hamstrings on a slide board.
Others included Hargreaves using weights and a medicine ball.
