    Story so far..
Defending champions Manchester United started their new campaign with a 3-0 victory in the Community shield against Chelsea but they couldn't continue scoring on the opening day against local rivals Manchester City, but the reds got back to winning ways in a 3-0 win away from home against Burnley. United found the killer instinct to score twice in an unexpected difficult home match against relegation candidates Hull City. United's most thrilling match so far was a great comeback against Wolverhampton Wanderers where United found themselves 1-0 down thanks to a strike from Kevin Doyle, but showed some wonderful attacking football, mostly from Bulgaria captain Dimitar Berbatov, who brought United Level 5 minutes before half time. Nani then gave United the lead after a spectacular pass from David Beckham. Nani then finished the scoring with a 35 yard freekick 7 minutes from time. United's next opponents were struggling Chelsea at Old trafford and the red devils showed exactly why they are struggling. Edin Dzeko got on the scoresheet with just 6 minutes on the clock. Rooney then got his 3rd and 4th of the season as United completely destroyed Chelsea in the first 20 minutes to win by 3 goals to nil. United entered their Champions league campaign with high confidence and they continued to dominate possesion and score goals for fun as they ended up 4-0 winners against Romanian side Unirea Urziceni. Back to England and the premier league as Manchester United faced a tricky Everton side who were 4th in the table. But it was United who took the three points as they won 2-0, David Beckham scored his first goal since returning for the club. Ironically it was the same ground that Beckham last scored in a United shirt. The reds then took on Hull City in the 3rd round of the League cup, where United turned to their youngsters and they did not dissapoint. Zoran Tosic and Italian striker Macheda got on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win. Now United took on Aston Villa and they were the only team since Manchester City came to old trafford to take a point in a 2-2 draw.

    Manchester United 2-0 Rangers
Manchester United's great form continues as they beat Scottish champions Rangers in a 2-0 win. Rangers played very defensive football as they looked to get a point at Old Trafford but United huffed and puffed their way until they finally took the lead from a header from striker Michael owen on 76 minutes. As the game was coming to an end Rangers had a freekick which led to a Manchester United counter attack. Rooney missed the one on one with McGregor but Nani showed great determination to rob whitaker in the box and passed it to Darren Fletcher, who scored his 2nd champions league goal of this season. United could have added another in injury time but yet another save from the Rangers goalkeeper denied Wayne Rooney.
Final score Manchester United 2-0 Rangers.

Blackburn Rovers 1- 0 Manchester United

Manchester United have been finally beaten in an unexpected game to do so. A poor performance for the Champions was exploited time and time again and Blackburn finally took the lead in the 80th minute from Reid. United finally started to click into gear but it was too late and the Blackburn team made it a day to remember for their fans as they beat the champions 1-0.

West Ham United 1 - 2 Manchester United
A dramatic comeback by Manchester United secured the 3 points for the Red devils and Wayne Rooney was the hero of the day.
West Ham United took on the Champions at Upton park full of confidence from their 3-1 win over wolverhampton wanderers and continued to show it as they tested Edwin van der sar's goal many times. As the game was approaching the end West Ham took finally took the lead with 14 minutes to go. But United showed their never say die attitude and remarkably, pulled it out of the fire. With 6 minutes to go United were desperate in search for their equaliser, with Spurs winning and Bolton drawing United were going to drop to third in the league but Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney combined to give Manchester United the equaliser. After a glorious pass from David Beckham put Valencia behind the defence, the equador international cut it back across the face of goal and Wayne Rooney was there to apply the finish. But the pair were not finished yet as they combined again 3 minutes later in a similar position. Upson thought he cleared it but Rooney showed great determination and Tackeled the ball away from him, to find an easy open net to finish. From the fans to the players to the staff, everyone was delighted with the comeback and the reds now move back on top of the Premier league thanks to goal difference

    Besitkas 1- 3 Manchester United
Manchester United travelled to Turkey knowing they will have a tricky opponent to deal with. But clinical finishing proved to be the key for United. The reds took the lead after just over 20 minutes into the game, a sensational goal by Nani outside the box, curving it's way into the top corner of the net. Unstoppable. United then went on to add another after confusion in the box. Besitkas weren't able to clear their lines and ball fell for Antonio Valencia. The equador international used some wonderful magic to get past 2 defenders in the box before passing it into the net. Late into the second half the Turkish champions got one back and re-ignited hope for the hosts, with 5 minutes to play Besitkas won a corner, which led to a fantastic Manchester United breakaway, capped by a fantastic finish from the man of the week, Wayne Rooney. United now have 9 points from 9 in their Champions league campaign and look favourites to win the group.

    Manchester United 4 - 1 Sheffield United
United's youngsters had their chance to shine in the League cup tonight and they did not dissapoint. Zoran Tosic swung in a delicious ball into the box and Michael Owen was there to head it in. Owen found the net again just a few minutes before the end of the first half with a well timed finish but just seconds later, Ched Evans gave Sheffield a life line right before half time. United didn't look worried though and added another 5 minutes into the second half, Jonny Evans with his first goal ever for Manchester United. Young 18 year old Federico Macheda completed the scoring with a wonderful shot from outside the box to give Man utd a convincing 4-1 win.

    Portsmouth 0 - 2 Manchester United
Manchester United put in a confident performance as the Champions defeated relegation struggling Portsmouth by two goals to nil at Fratton Park. The red devils took an early lead when David Beckham found the on-form Wayne Rooney with a great pass and he buried his chance into the bottom corner. It was pretty much all about Manchester United after that, as they dominated possesion for a large part of the game and it was finally killed off when United were awarded with a controversial penalty but United didn't care and Paul Scholes stepped up to score his 99th Premier league goal for the club and gave Manchester United the 2 goal lead they wanted. They should've scored more, but they didn't but the most important thing to their fans is the 3 points and they go back on top of the Premier league.

    Manchester United 3 - 1 Besitkas
Manchester United are through to the next round of the Champions league after defeating the Turkish champions Besitkas 3-1. United had the best chances in a boring first half but they managed to score right before half time, Marek Hamsik heading home his first goal for Manchester United; But 2 minutes into the second half, Besitkas pulled level. A fabulous strike from Batuhan left veteran goal keeper Edwin Van der sar with no chance. Besitkas were threatening to take the lead but a needless error from the Besitkas defender gave Manchester United a penalty, which Dimitar Berbatov scored from. The Besitkas players lost their confidence and Possession was back for United. Marek Hamsik then found Dimitar Berbatov and his shot was saved but the rebound fell for Michael Owen who found the net in style with a half volley. United could've added another a few minutes later but the upright denied the Serbian Nemanja Vidic. So United have won their group with 2 games to spare and are the side with most goals in the Champions league so far with twelve goals.

    Manchester United 3 - 0 Stoke City
A confident performance from Manchester United ensured the 3 points as they beat Stoke City back 3 goals to nil. It was the perfect start for the champions as they played a wonderful passing move which led to an easy header for Wayne Rooney to score his tenth in the Premier league season. United kept possesion but couldn't create chances and they ended the first half frustrated as they knew they should've ended it in the first 45 minutes. It was the same story in the second half only this time United did take their chances. Wayne Rooney swung in a great ball into the penalty area but it was punched away from Sorensen, but the ball fell for the Scottish captain Darren Fletcher, who from 25 yards out hit it on the volley and went into the top corner. It was Fletcher again 7 minutes from time who hit the back of the net and carrick played it forward to him and he hit it with his left foot on the volley and again, from 25 yards out hit the top corner. United can be very pleased with their result knowing that they went on top of the premier league again, and later on in the day Tottenham dropped points so it meant that they stayed there.

    Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal
Manchester United made it a day to rememeber for their fans as they beat Arsenal 2-1, the winning goal coming in the 93rd minute. United played some very nice football but it was no passing move this time. A sensational goal from Wayne Rooney from 35 yards. Di Maria picked out Rooney and he touched the ball into space before releasing a shot no goalkeeper in the world would've saved as it rattled the net. The fans were sent into raptures after such a fantastic goal in such an important match. The game was enjoyable for the neutral but nerve-racking for both sets of fans as both sides looked to score with almost every attack. Arsenal had possesion for a good 10 minutes and they made the most of it. Nasri picked out Sagna making a run out on the edge of the box and cut it back with a low cross for Eduardo to score. United immidiately made a substitution, Di Maria off for the on-form Nani, who had 5 goals and 8 assists to his name. As the reds looked hard for a winner, they were given a massive advantage as Abou Diaby picked up his second yellow and Arsenal were down to 10. United dominated possession but couldn't find the goal. Valencia was the key man as he left Gael Clichy for dead numerous times but either Almunia was there to deny them or poor finishing let them down. The fourth official held up the board to indicate that there were 3 minutes of added time. United could've scored on 4 different occasions in this space of short time but they were denied by the hands of Almunia. Finally though the goal came as Valencia cut it back superbly and Nani was there to tap it home. The fans were delighted with Nani's late goal and they are now 3 points clear of Bolton. A great day for Manchester United.

    Sunderland 1- 2Manchester United
Manchester United grabbed yet another late winner this time at the Stadium of light. Sunderland took the game to Man utd as they pressed and pressed looking for the opening goal and they finally got it. A penalty conceded my Nemanja Vidic was dispatched from legendary striker Ronaldo right before half time. But it looked like the boss had some inspirational words at half time as United dominated it. They worked hard for their equaliser and it was that man again, Wayne Rooney who headed it home on the hour mark. United took their foot off the gas and they weren't creating chances as much as they were before. But 5 minutes from time, United had a throw in in the sunderland area. They worked it well and Patrice Evra delivered a good ball in for Wayne Rooney to head in. The England striker now has 15 goals to his name for his club this season and it doesn't look like his form is going to drop any time soon. It's another big 3 points for Manchester United and they maintain their 3 point lead at the top.

    Manchester United 0 - 0 Urinea Uriziceni
Manchester United will feel amazed how they didn't score any goals tonight as Urinea Uriziceni held them to a 0-0 draw. In a match totally dominated from United the chances were not taken and they only had themselves to blame. Despite this result, United still have won the group and will hope to bounce back on winning ways next time out.

    Manchester United 3 - 0 Wigan
Manchester United got back to winning ways in the premier league after defeating a Wigan side who haven't scored since 10 hours of football and the reds took full advantage of that. With possesion almost all the time with the reds, they still couldn't force an opening in the first half. But whatever Jake Cole said in the dressing room must have inspired them, as only 2 minutes into the second half Wayne Rooney gave them the lead. Just 2 minutes later Wayne Rooney scored again and gave United a 2 goal lead. With the game coming to an end. A deflected David Beckham pass fell into the path of Darren Fletcher, who rifeled it home for 3-0. United now are on a 6 game winning streak and are 8 points clear of Tottenham and Chelsea who have a game in hand each.
